Yes, that is the thread., no, there is no changes on bars profile they are all round,it might look rectangular in the B section but this is a matter of the padding, which square it off a bit, early ones were mild steel, later ones (mine) are made from chrome moly, none of the IRC's will look exactly the same,since they don't have pre-bended tubing,this is done as the instalation progresses. Yes the trimming is in Alcantara.,You can PM me your E-Mail so I can send you detailed pictures of the instalation,cheers.

Here is a picture of the detachable crossbar in my car. It is a RGT (based on the Mk1 GT3). To me, the additional stiffness from the Ruf IRC is noticeable, especially on the track, versus my 997 GT3.

I think it's def worth doing,the car behaves much better with it,not to mention the safety aspect
