$55k for a Andial 3.8 motor with over 80k hard miles? Isn't that a bit too strong? I've sold my 997S and looking for a 993TT again.

May have missed it. Pics and specs, other than what was in your original post, available anywhere? Good luck.

Was the conversion done at Andial?

Is this car registered as an "authentic ANDIAL modified 993 BT 3.8"?

Yes, I'm #17 on the Andial registry, although my last name is Thompson, not Thomas and the car is a 1996, not 1997. At least they got the Vin correct. I've taken some pix and will attempt to post them now. We'll see if I've truly joined the new century!

Gentlemen,
I inherited the title of Keeper of The Andial Registry from James Brady.
Don's car most certainly is one of the certified cars.
I'm in the process of transferring the registry to an Excel spreadsheet. (I need to get the name an adress of the new owner of CJ Wilsons old car.)
Don, with your permission I'm going to put the pictures you postehere into your car's page.

Default Must have driven the 2011 Turbo S!

I'm selling mine, too, but keeping it in the family. I spoke to James Brady last week, and am waiting for the current keeper of the list to contact me. My '96 was purchased in September 1995, suffered a $50,000, value altering nose job, when a lady blinded by the sun turned left in front of me, not knowing that I was quietly cruising past the school at 25 (possibly 30 mph). The rebuild was just fine, but the value had evaporated. I bought a 996 Turbo, thinking I would replace the 993, but the improvement, though real, didn't justify the difference in price between the new one and what the 993 would bring. I had read the #81 Excellence article, and Dieter gave me 1 ride, assured me that my car would remain usable as a daily driver (business car). That was in 2004, with 107,000 miles on it. It now has 180,000, with a perfectly tight engine, taken out of the car to thoroughly handle the oil leaks (Vision Motors), and lo and behold, Sean Butler, who built my engine at Andial, now works at Vision, and resealed the leaks. 73,000 miles on the engine and it runs great. Transmission is great. The car is so fantastic, I can't let it go.... too, far. My son is buying it from me. I can't tell you the price. I have seven children, and one is driving my 1969 911S which I bought from Commonwealth Porsche in Buena Park, and was modified, not too well, I must say, initially by Bill Yates.

The reason for the sale is the completion of a special order midnight blue 911 Turbo S, on January 12, 2011. I drove one at Circle Porsche, and this is as fast as I could get it. Now, my goal is to get to station 61 to take a photograph of the "marriage" of body and engine. It will take an act of Odin to get me into the Zuffenhausen Valhalla, and I'm trying, mightily. In the meanwhile, let me endorse the Andial conversion. I love mine, and I will miss it greatly, but it stays in the family, just like the 911S

Am I seeing correctly? A Corvette ZR-1? For the track, mostly? The only car that will get me out of my 180,000 mile daily driver is a 2011 997 Turbo S.

Sean did most of the work on my car also, great guy. I've had my ZR1 for 6 weeks now, 4000 miles and 5 track events. I'm pleased with it.

Don,

I'd like to see some photos of your ZR-1, and your track impressions on the differences with the Andial. Any lap-time comparisons yet?

Congrats on your new car. Traitor
