Default new Forgeline GA3's wheels/offsets

After some usual research/searches RE: sizes/withs/offsets etc etc. This is what I ended up getting.
For reference these are the new Forgeline GA3 wheels - there's been some threads recently on the GT3/2 forum about HRE wheels for the new GT3RS with some extra machining to loose weight. These are similar but are 3 piece. They can also be had in centre locking (there's also a adapter to make the 5 lug into centre lock). These are polished rims with matte aluminum centres. They look pretty strong and the lips are rolled vs just cut off for most of the other rims I've seen.

The front are 8.5x18 offset 52mm, and rear 11x18 offset 40mm (just wider rims with stock offsets really - after reading every post on different offsets people have used and some pms...). I probably could have gone wider like some people but thought these were ideal for the size of tire I wanted to use (and wanted to save weight/larger rims are heavier): 235/40 & 315/30 18". Also looking at width of tires, even with the same size, the thread and max width are different for different make of tire. This also changes some with the width of the rims. I wanted to try the Nitto N0 1s.

I have gt2 uprights and ride height is 24 3/8" (24 5/8") front and 25 1/4" (25 7/8") rear (slightly different side to side due to corner weighing) at the wheel arches (with these tires/wheels - take away .5" for stock tire sizes).
I'm at -2 degree all around.

my bbs lm's weigh 26.9 + (3)=29.9 lbs (spacers) rear 18x11 et 33 (with spacers) and 21 lbs in the front (18x8 et 50)
my fikse fm 10 weigh 22lb 18x10 rear and 20.8lb 18x8 front.

These GA3's weigh 23.5lb 18x11 rear and 21.5lb 18x8.5 front

Overall don't think there was much savings in weight d/t the larger rubber (was using stock sizes for the bbs lm and fiske.

Here's some pics, they don't seem to rub at the fenders but in the front, at full lock, the outside edge of the tire rub the plastic fender liner (but this was so with the bbs-lm's too - I think more to do with the gt2 uprights - didn't rub before I switched to these).

Also thanx to Jeff Alton at www.pacificwesternperformance.com for setting me up with these and the tires.

Also, these look like they will be a little easier to clean vs the fm10's or bbs-lms...

As an update.
My ride height is about a 1/2" higher with these tires (noticed much easier to get my jack in under the car and don't scrape/bottom out on bumps that were a problem before, even with a passenger - so, good). Also due to the higher side wall (or tire stiffness) the ride is much more comfortable on the road. I can probably stiffen the motons a couple of clicks - haven't figured out if that's good or not, haven't been to the track (but good for street driving).
No rubbing with these offsets/tires, except again a full lock in the front - have learned it touches the liner in the last 1/4 turn of the steering wheel so I try to avoid that.

I have them on right now but I mean to use them mostly for the track. My street tire are the Yoko AD07/8. I have to drive to and from the track, and will probably end up keeping them on in the summer for the road when I can't be bothered to switch them. Many guys up here locally like the nitto for the track, and Pete (pstoppani) recommended these over the yoko A048 that I've been running. I won't be able to try them myself on the track until the spring. Can't wait!

nice rims. The weight savings on the rear axles will be a noticeable improvement

Sorry to drag up an older thread but I had been looking for cars with the Forgeline GA3 wheel. They look great on your car.

I ordered a set of 19's for my 09S. I went with stepped/polished lips and matte gunmetal on a black car. If anyone wants to see what they look like on a black car I'll post a few photos.
