997.5 GT3 Seats
Does anyone know if the new GT3 seats will fit in a 993?

Hi roarke01... That was probably me that MSW is referring too. The photos are in my profile if you want to take a peak.

I have CF GT3 seats in my car and I would have to say they are fantastic for the track, but if my car is taking a break from track work, I take them out and put the OME seats back in.
Reason, they are rather uncomfortable (if your hip measurement is over 40" - forget it) and hard to get in and out of (I have to support myself with my hand on the door sill when getting my hip and butt over the side of the seat). The latter is what gives such great support when driving hard at the track, but you can't just slide in and out. When my father comes to the track with me, I have to leaver him out! I would try them before committing to an installation. Taking them in and out is a 15 minute job so I'm happy to do that in preparation for track days. They are in my opinion for the "enthusiast". Girls will hate them, but you'll love them at the track!

Thanks guys, they do look awesome but it sounds like too much trade off for a driver. I am also considering the 996 GT3 seats with Brey Krause brackets for (hopefully) a little extra headroom.

I don't know, because my car has always had the GT3 seats. The OEM's are resting comfortably in my basement.
If it helps, I am 6'2" and 210 pounds with a 36" inseam. With a helmet, I adjust the seats slightly more forward than DD, and I lightly brush the headliner (I have sunroof).

@aperalta… It wasn't difficult. I found the info here on Rennlist from another member who put 997 seats in their 993. It was a great writeup on how to get it done. I just skipped the power part of the DIY since these seats don't have any power.
@malcolmd… I totally agree. Although I don't track my car when I do drive it its usually on spirited drives in central Washington and Oregon. Malcolm's description on how to get out of the car is spot on!
I've gotten used to these seats and since my hips are 36in the seats fit me perfectly. My wife doesn't like the seats at all. No reclining tilt but they do tilt forward so the kids can still get into the rear seats when needed. Definitely try these before you buy. They either fit you or they don't. Same goes for the non-tilt version of these as well. BTW, I've done 300-500 day trips in the seats and have felt fine. I actually like the support they give over the stock seats.
@msw… Thanks! I think they modern up the interior a little without going overboard.
@roarke01… These seats actually sit a little lower in the car than the stock 993 seats. Not much but a little...

Roarke, here are some rough measurments I just took:
From the thigh cushion to the headliner.....about 31 inches
From the butt cushion to the headliner.......about 38 inches
Sitting in the seat, I have about a 2 inch gap above my head to the headliner

For comparison... I'm 5'8", 34in waist w/ 32in inseam. With a full face Arai motorcycle helmet I have 2 inches above the helmet. I measured the distance from the bucket (butt cushion) of the seat to the roof and its 38 inches. Hopefully this will help determine if the seats will work for you.
