I buy 93 octane Pure Gas (no alcohol) in Janesville, WI and Oglesby, IL. I am in both areas a lot for my sunny weekend drives. Great products, great performance and gas mileage vs the 93 with 10% ethanol.

I'm with Steve W. on this one.
Unless you are driving an old (ex. CIS) injection system, the downsides of some ethanol content are outweighed by the protection of higher detonation resistance. Especially w/ forced induction.
Yes, non-ethanol fuel has yields better fuel economy, and is probably a good choice for irregular use or winter storage. In hot weather or on track, I run 94 w/ethanol. Lesser of the 2 evils.
Best,
Matt

That is an issue that has always baffled me. You do get cheaper gas prices in America, but you get exactly what you pay for: Cheap gas.
Where I live, we do pay a bit more for every litre of gas but then again, the lowest quality kind of gas you can get is 95 octane 100% gasoline. The vast majority of Gas Stations over here will be able to supply you with regular Diesel, "Fancy/posh" Diesel (cleaner and more powerful), 95 oct Gas (for poor people or crap cars), Super95 (a rip-off, basically regular 95 but more expensive) and 98oct (gas for 993 turbos and BMW M5s). And not that long ago, (around 2005) BP used to sell 100 octane fuel.. Now that was proper petrol..
And all of this inevitabily makes me wonder, if american 993tt owners ever get the chance to bring their beloved automobiles over to europe (where they originally came from), and fill them up with a tank of 98 octane fuel, plus a bottle of octane boost, what's gonna happen? I mean.. Are they going to be completely wild and hysterical about how their cars just went really really fast for the duration of a gas tank, or are they just going to be really sad and depressed for realizing that back in the United States of America Land, they are pretty much stuck with cheap gas?
I mean I'm just saying because from what I read, everyone is making such a fuss about the difference between 91 and 93 octane gasoline and how different it feels.. Imagine using 98 or even 100 octane..
You know what they say, once you've tried Caviar, you won't be satisfied with fish roe again.
