Default Selling my 993 turbo - need some advice

Guys, I need some help.

Made a tough decision a couple of months ago to sell my 993 turbo.

I know, most likely I will regret it down the line...........

Posted this ad on AutoTrader, but the activity has been sparce. Some tire kickers, and others who seem serious suddenly disappear. Not sure what's wrong.

Can you help me critique my ad?

Ad is fine.
Buyers don't come along everyday. Be patient. Your price is not out of line.

not that I think its the reason for your lack of interest, but I always disliked it when people say "I only drive it 1k miles per year, and the car deserves to be driven so I'm selling it". Always seems like a bit of a cop out to me, but I digress.

The only other thing I can say is maybe to cut out the basic facts (hp, accel, etc). Most people who are looking for a 993tt know these things, and that space could be replaced with maintenance info and other useful facts about your particular example.

Your pictures are good (maybe a few more interior shots?) and the car looks great.

as stated, its a rough market.

yes couldn't agree with quadcammer more ...... take out the basic facts. say how long you've owned it. personally i would take off the tint and if you really want to sell it quickly drop the price to 60 even. although beautiful, the color is less broadly desirable than artic silver or black.

Well I don't really know the market for 993 turbo's that well but here are some basic facts to consider.
1. You have 14-15 year old car that someone needs to write a $65 K check, not easy in todays economic environment.
2. Collectors will want a lower mileage car and will pay more for that, someone who wants a driver will probably buy a higher mileage car and pay less.
3. Use the number of inquiries as a feedback on market, if they are sparse, than your price is too high. Hard to know how many serious buyers are out there right now but pleanty of bottom feeders/bargain hunters.
4. You may want to try ebay, you'll get some feedback on market and a lot of exposure, plus a lot of email from jacka**es w/o money to buy but with time to waste.
It's a beautiful car and I'm sure it will sell in time, as they say there an a** for every seat. Be prepared to get jacked around, that's what's involved when you sell a car.
GLWS,
Phil

Great Ad, Great Pics, good price. Unfortunately you need to flood the advertising spots, those free and those that cost. Its better to have bottom feeders and tire kickers than none at all. Only drop the price when its a must, the right person for your car will be out their. In todays condition having a car unsold for a length of time is not a negative and those searching will realise that.

Nice car.

There is way too much text in your ad. As other suggest, cut that first half that doesn't speak to your specific car. I like to see the options, miles, service, owners, etc at the beginning of the ad. See if you can put that information bulleted form.

I have seen some sellers set up nice and simple web pages describing their cars and loaded with great pictures.

Additionally, list your car in multiple places. Including RL Classifieds, PCA classifieds, ebay, craigslist, etc. If you are concerned about too many inquiries, get a temp email address and mobile #.

Good luck!

Nice car, but I think it's $7K - $10K over priced for the mileage...

Nice car. You may consider changing the color to Arena Red (burgundy in ad). People who look for 993tts know their Porsche colors. This may cause them to think that you are not a Porschephile. Just one less stigma if you can avoid it.

JMHO of course.

Thats a good ad and I can't see anything wrong with it. I don't believe you can give too much info. Shows your enthusiasm. If your market is anything like ours, it might take some time. Imagine having a total market of 4.2m people!
Pity sheep can't buy cars. There's over 60 million of those!

Default More exposure

As suggested, a common web site ad may help. Point to it in other ads for details, photos, etc.

Here is a sample from another Rennlister I always thought was top notch.
