That battery is cute. Does it have the same power specs?

Hood shocks, accumulators, slave cyliders...
Replace every 5-8 years, yeah?

I have a carbon hood/fiberglass hood so kept the hood shocks off (to save wt and shocks become too strong for the hood).

power specs:

Item Specifications
Model Number VPH900
Nominal voltage 12.8 volts
Cranking Amps (CA) 1020 amps
Cold Cranking Amps (CCA) 570 amps
reserve capacity (RC) 42 minutes
Capacity 22 Ah
terminal type SAE post, M6 male, M6 female (click for images)
working temperature -22°F to 140°F (max 170°F)
dimensions 10 x 6 x 3" (not including terminals)
weight 7.25 pounds

Voltpheaks have a special on for the VPH 750 and VPH 900 right now, there's a rennlist discount for either one of these batteries. (there was a thread on the 997 gt2/3 forum)

So a $1200 battery to save weight ... next to a ... CD changer?

Well, thought I would update. After 9 years, this battery has lost its oomph... it'll start the car but does not crank as well as it should. On a cool day, it will sometimes not crank/catch with the first turn of the key. Made me nervous enough to get a battery booster to keep in the trunk when further from home, then recently put a new standard battery back in for now (and it cranks like normal).
Sooo the life expectancy is about 9 years, 27K miles...
Apparently these batteries can be sent back for rebuild, might do that...or there's other options now. Will look around a bit.

That is a great run if you got 9 years out of the Volt Phreaks. Good job to Volt Phreaks!

That's cool. I thought about this upgrade in the past. Seams to simple. I always lean towards the projects that take forever to finish. Lol
