Default RUF Bumpered Green 993TT

Guys here are some pictures of the car pretty well completed. Need some details finished and to be blocked and rubbed out.

What I had set out to do was have it sound closer to my favorite air cooler, a 935 twin. The exhaust system I built for it last year was quiet enough yet pretty free flowing. Went up to 2.5" from the stock 2.25" couple 100 cell ceramic Cats, some 12" long resonators and that's it. This one is just straight out which is now too loud for the street but during the short burp around the block it rocked. Great sounds and spools even quicker then before. I have to make up some temporary insert "tips" to take the bark out of it for any long road trips.

One of the reasons I went with this nose was to give me room in the front for a centered oil cooler. I have already made some space in the metal portion of the nose & built the cooler. Have not had a chance to build the screen for making sure I don't perforate it with a rock or other track trash. Once the screen is done I can plumb it in. Same time it will get a custom transmission mount and I am done making bits for it.

The side vents really move some heat out of the rear and there is someplace for the license plate to fit, better than stock. Both those features make the decision to go with this rear bumper an easy one.

Obviously there in not a lot of the stock car left with all the changes and deletes. When I got this car there was little chance of it ever becoming a concours beauty queen so all these changes don't effect it as would the case if it started as a cherry stock 993tt.

Rick

Great choice on the wheel color to contrast with the green.

Looks great, Rick! Do you have any plans to run at Gingerman this year? I'd love to drive over, and see & hear, your car in person.

Is your rear "Turbo S" wing OEM or MA Shaw?

Congrats - love the shocking green....

I'd like to know if you plan to have the car @ Waterford Hills in the near future - or perhaps you could bring it to one of the cars & coffee events on Woodward?

NoH2O,

Trying to finish the car and missed Gingerman last weekend. The there is a Lotus club event there this Friday 6/11 but I will be at Grattan. I want to run the new layout but it might have to wait until early Sept. What events have you got planned for there? Always great to hook up with other owners and compare notes. That rear wing is an MA Shaw. I would not rush to buy one from him again. The quality was not there in the layup, fit was pretty good. I will not post the details publicly but would be happy to respond to a PM if someone wants details .

Nurburger,

I won't run it at Waterford anymore. I have run it there the last 3 years (avatar is taken on the front straight) but it is too loud now and quite honestly with my pace increasing a bit scary to manage with the limited run off areas. Never had it off but with the new bodywork and all. I do get up to Autozone and will have it up there sometime this summer. Needs some detailing and finishing up before it hits the street and the discerning eyes of that crowd. PM me with your contact info and we can plan a meet up.

Spartan,

It will get something. Got to color sand and rub the paint out first. All I have planned is the RS from the RS America. Some buddies are suggesting turbo RS. I kinda like to keep it subtle, which is a bit whack since you can now here the car from 3 blocks away ????
