Default Pedal Help for Heel/Toe

Starting to think about the upcoming track season. My ankle doesn't allow me to heel and toe in my car. I can do the maneuver in my other car. Anyone have any advice for either a pedal set or an accelerator pedal with some additional width that works for them?
Thanks,
Bill

I have the rennline set and heel toe without issues. Having a large foot helps

They seem to make the quietest looking set which is why I went with them. Put some non skid tape on there too it will help

Have you tried adjusting the pedals? In stock form I could not heel and toe either, but after moving the brake pedal down and the throttle up, I'm able to do so with relative ease.

Might be a good no-cost solution that you want to try.

it is pretty difficult with the way the pedals are offset. try keeping your knees together.

Mine are stock and I can do it easily if I'm really braking hard otherwise the pedals don't align that well.

I found it a little difficult when I first got my car then I found by sliding your heel over to operate the gas and leaving my toes on the brake no problem. In other cars I used the toes on the brake and side of my foot(top half) for the gas; however using the actual "heel and toe" as described above definitely is better with stock pedals.
also you can raise or lower the brake padal with adjustments near the pedal.

I've had problems for years. I could only heel - toe with wide running shoes. Then I got some aluminum pedals off a sponsor here. Best mod I have done for performance - hands down.

I think his screen name is pedalpusher or search for SRP. They are awesome. I cheated the brake pedal a little toward the gas pedal and now I can heel toe with any shoe. Highly recommend them. I can't remember the guys name, but he was awesome to work with and has about a zillion pedal styles, finishes and combinations. No affiliation by the way.

Back in 1996 I wrote an article about Heel and Toe for the local PCA magazine. Unless you have very narrow feet, the best way to improve matters is to lower the brake pedal which in the 95-96 993 was way too high - probably as a result of the "unintended acceleration" scam.

Lowering the pedal is a 30 minute job and greatly improves heel and toe.

Regards,

I didn't realize that you could lower the brake pedal (should have searched) so I affixed another gas pedal on top of the original (raising it 1/2") and my throttle blips are perfect.

I didn't understand what you meant by lowering it - now I do. My problem was that the gas pedal and brake pedal were too far apart to use the big toe/little toe method of heel - toe. I never had a problem with pedal heights. Once I am actually hard on the brakes, the brake pedal is about the same level as the gas pedal.

I've never had a problem with size 13 EEE feet under threshold braking.

i have done both on many 993's -- either lower the brake or raise the throttle.

For those who have or planning to raise the throttle, please readjust the cable such that the cable isnt part of the throttle stop. You dont want the throttle cable to pulled upon and used as a stop. It wont last long.

What I have done to help is make a plate that bolts onto the throttle pedal. Works great!

I like this pedal on top of the stock gas pedal idea. Is it available anywhere commercially?

I am hoping to release these as an official product shortly, in carbon of course ...and a little more deliberate pattern -- this one was a prototype from many years ago

I would like to gather interest -- I am waiting on a few suppliers of pre-preg for material pricing -- should know soon what these thing will cost to make.
