Default Need a PPI in Springfield, MO. Any Recommendations?

Hello,
I am in need of a pre-purchase inspection in Springfield, MO. Any recommendations on shops that are proficient in the aircooled 993tt? Thank you.
Regards,
Enrique

Are you planning on a purchase from Willhoit or Premier (they actually sell each others inventory and share space)? If you are, make sure you take it to place they DO NOT work with, to get an unbiased PPI.

There is a Porsche dealership in town- 800-826-9750....try them.

Team Motorsports might be a option in Springfield MO, also Motorcars International is located in Springfield Mo. Both places specialize in exotics. (may have PPI capabilities ) Wilhoit and Premier are in the same building.

Karl Wilen is the best Porsche mechanic in the area. He is in Kansas City which is 2.5 hours away. If you want to deal with an honest mechanic that will treat you professionally with a very reasonable fee I would inquire with Karl to see if he would do a day trip down to Springfield for you.

The only affiliation I have is that Karl has worked on my car for the 3 years I have owned it. My experience with Karl has allowed me to trust and respect him enough that I have given him access to my storage unit to have access to my car.

I know he has completed PPI's for out of town buyers from all over the US.

PM me if you want his contact information.

Tell them you are bringing your paint meter. Might save the trip. (and whole lot of grief)

For each of my purchases from Willhoit Enterprises down in Springfield, I have used John Clark out of Kansas City. 816-356-2639. He is an absolute perfectionist and leaves no stone unturned in the course of the PPI. Good Luck!

Many thanks for the responses. I've spoken to James Young at the Porsche dealership. I'm looking at the Arctic silver/Dark red 993tt at Premier, anyone have any info on that car? Thanks again.

Hwyranger, what was your experience with the PPI at Springfield, MO? I am trying to find a reliable mechanic for a PPI on a 2006 C2s and the seller recommended this Porsche dealership or Imports Specialists, an independent shop. I would appreciate any advice since I am out of state and don't have much experience with Porsche, it would be my first one. Thank you very much.

For an '06 C2S, I think you'd be fine with the local dealership, as long as they were NOT the prior servicing dealership. You want an un-biased opinion.

Make sure you get a print out from the dealership off the DME. You want to see the number of ignitions in all 6 rev ranges. Then take that info and start a new post on the 997 Forum.

You only want to see over-revs in range #1 and significantly less in range #2. If there are any in range 4-6 don't walk from the car......run!

Lastly, this is your first post and first Porsche. That sounds like a very dangerous combo to me!. Don't buy that car, or any car, for a few weeks. You need to spend some time reading everything you can on the 997 Forum. There is NO rush. There are 100's of 2006 911's for sale right now. Be patient. It will pay off. Have fun!

Thank you so much for the quick reply. The Porsche dealership is not the servicing dealership according to Carfax. It is my first post but I was reading extensively about the 997 and I have been looking for about 2 months when I finally found this car that has the options I am looking for. The seller has a good reputation on BBB and sells mostly Ferrari and Lamborghini, mine is the only Porsche they have at this point. I called the Porsche service dept. to inquire about the PPI and they said that they don't have a paint meter and cannot rule out body work/prior accidents. Is this common and how should I approach this matter with the seller? The seller is Motorcars International in Springfield, MO. Thank you for any advice, it is appreciated.

Be careful, as Premier and Willhoit do NOT own a 97 Silver/Red Twin Turbo at this time....

As far as a PPI goes, I was most grateful to TTKan for the advice he provided for a PPI. I used John Clark as well for my purchase. He is most certainly not associated with Michael Willhoit and will take all the time necessary to do a 110% inspection of every nut and bolt on the vehicle. His prices were very fair. I would definitely use both these businesses again. My car is an absolute dream to me.

The trick to being a successful sales person is learning how to sell what you don't actually have . . .

Dennis: How about posting a couple of pics of that Shelby? Didn't John Clark do the platinum paint concours paint job on it for you recently? I hope that you and your family are well and that you have enjoyed a few nice miles in your favourite cars.

John Clark has promised me that the Shelby will be finished by December 1 of this year. I think that most of the preparation work is finished, but some of the fiberglass parts had to be walnut blasted and this took more time than we had expected. I am hoping that I have a chance to drive the car before old age renders my right foot so arthritic than I cannot push the accelerator! [I have owned the car for the better part of two years and have yet to drive it.] I will post picks as soon as they are available.

The BMW M Roadster has been sold, thanks to Mr. Willhoit! The Speed Yellow TT is still a beast - the most thrill that I have ever derived from anything with four wheels! I hope you are continuing to burn up the Canadian roadways (and give the RCMP fits) with your high-powered TT!
