Oops. I guess the number I had in mind was North American sales which included Canada.

Wow. Our cars are pretty rare.

I'll bet half the sales this year are going back to Germany. The Euro is nearly twice the value as in 1997.

Does this include Canada? All my 993tt Buddies up here sourced their cars from the US because apparently only 50 were brought into Caanada as new. It was a $167,000 car here in '96. Dealers routinely say that 2/3 of the cars are still on the road but I have not seen any data.

Porsche has boasted for many years, that a large % of all their cars are still on the road today. And this % is far greater than any other car company. This is part of their "green" statement. IIRC, the % exceeds 65-70%.

I too believe many of the recent 993 Turbo sales have been outside of the USA with the strength of the Euro against the US dollar. So few cars are actually sold each year, I could see the number being close to 50%, as stated by Red89 above.

my guess 1200.
Porsche says 70% of all Porsches are on the road.
some other qs to consider:
how many have been whacked?
how many have had their turbos replaced as result of wrong oil filter?
