That license is only good in the state of origin..... there is no national concealed permit

^^ That's one way to keep your license in good nick! I did exactly the same on my recent journey east. Driving through mostly posted 75 mph zones, I kept it set in the low 80's and nobody even looked at me. Just the way I like it on an Interstate.

I've driven solo twice cross country from LA to DC ,numerous stops for sleep and coffee in between.
Bring plenty of good CD's and maybe and extra ground strap only thing to nearly fail 36hrs straight!

Congrats on finding a car!!
---> A laptop or netbook to check weather along the way. (I like wunderground.com -- cool regional radar maps.)
Books on tape and lots of tunes....
I must be getting old,,,, but I like to limit the days to about 600 miles max. Going all the way across the country with no co-pilot I'd probably take one day off to chill by the pool somewhere (Vegas!)
Also, if the car doesn't already have Litronics or an aftermarket HID kit I'd think seriously about picking one up and installing it prior to the trip. I can't remember if the Litronics were standard on the TT or not.

Quadcammer, just noticed your iteniary and a better route is 40 east ,the 10
will keep you quite a bit south and prolong your trip.

Hey Quad - don't listen to all the naysayers. A cross-country trip in a Porsche is an experience to be savored, every minute of it, not to be paranoid about. You are going well-prepared, you'll be fine. As someone mentioned, this isn't Outer Mongolia. Chances are extremely high that you won't have a single problem on the trip, and if you do it won't be the end of the world.
I just did the trip in reverse, flew to JFK from California, picked up my Porsche and drove it back to California. No issues whatsoever. If you can afford it, take your time and savor the trip. These opportunities don't come along very often.

road trip
Driving in a 993TT is alot of fun, but that burned oil smell would get to u after several hours. I enjoy it for the first hour, then I drive with the window open.
