NOTE: Ignore the speed readout, my GPS module was flaking out... a replacement is on its way

Hey Pete - Looks good. Which ecu were you running?
You might try T11 in 2nd. It seems faster to me. I'd be interested in hearing your opinion. I also downshift into 3rd going into T9, but the jury is out on that one. Of course with those laggy turbos you have, maybe things are different
Greg H.

Greg, the answer is NOT which ECU, but which file he loaded. I think that Pete had 5 or 6 files loaded. The sad thing was I emailed him another file to use, but he forgot his programming cable.

Programmable ecu for these cars? Uh oh. That sounds like a recipe for spending money.
What turbos are on that engine he was using? He said it had a cam. Rods too, or have you come around to installing cams without a bottom end like Ruf?

The turbochargers are "special" The have K24 turbine housings, fitted with my K24 HyFlow turbine wheels> this mod will cut 350 to 450 RPM's of lag compared to stock K24's. The compressor housings are K26 spec, with the new 997GT2 compressor wheel CNC'd into them.
The engine has rods and cams, solid rockers, and a few other goodies.
Pete was running the low boost and high boost file. He can chime in and tell us which file he was running in the video.

In other cars, I take T11 in 2nd and T9 in 3rd. I started that way in the Turbo but found that the car makes enough power in the higher gear to make the lower gear plus a shift a wash. As I increase my turn speeds in the car, using the higher gears will work even better.
Regarding the ECU program, I was running a low boost program for all but one session on Friday; the video is from Saturday and I ran low boost all day.
Again, it was great to meet you at the track; one doesn't see two 993TTs at the track much...

1. I love Mustangs; just sold my last one, a 2008 Shelby GT
2. Having been on the track with Nor Cal Shelby club for years, I can tell you that the fastest guys in 60's Mustangs, are VERY FAST; big horsepower and Hoosiers overcome a lot of handling shortcomings...
You can see he is driving on the edge, while I'm doing 9/10s at best. My guess he's doing about 2:13 laps based on how far ahead he is a the start of the video.
