Mobil 1 sticker only came on the 1997. The 1996 has a shell sticker on the intercooler. To me, it looks like it has more than 18k on it. The floor mats are kinda tired for 18k. IMO, the exhaust tips look cheep, they stick out waaaaayyyyyy to much.

Looks a bargain as long as no accident damage and it all stacks up, I should get down there asap on the shuttle.
Whats that lrking in the rear passenger footwell with the wire running under the seat, presumably a CD changer!!!

I went to see this car and drive it several days ago.
The paint, leather, wheels, tires (brand new Bridgestones) all looked very nice. The car is a 2-owner. Last owner maintained the car at The Porsche Exchange and Porsche Loeber Motors. They have some of the recent repair/maint. history at the Toy Store.
Clutch felt good. Engine was strong during an easy test drive. I felt some vibrations in the ***-end that seemed to improve after a little driving. Don't know exactly what that was all about. New tires & balancing???? Not sure. Needs to be checked out.
The car was on consignment for a while at the Chicago Bently store on Rush Street. Now it is at the Toy Store. They got it in on trade from the p.o. buying a Lambo there. I have been to the Toy Store on 3 different occasions the past year. I have always sensed a bit of a "slime" factor with the staff. Sorry, nothing concrete, just not a real good feel with the salespeople. In all fairness, they have probably moved at least 5-6 993 Turbos in the past 12 months. So they do sell cars.
The car had some major work done this year. They will show you the receipts. The last owner had an issue with fire coming out of the exhaust on start-up in the early Spring. Damaged the rear bumper (replaced at $1,900 plus sub'ed out paint work). Some other work was done. Total bill was $4,432.
One of the stupidest things I saw on the car, was a prior owner mounted the 6-CD changer behind the passenger seat, on the floor!
At the end, I offered to buy the car, leave a significant depost, and then do a PPI. I made a fair, low-end offer. They laughed, and countered with $1K less than their asking price. Then it was my turn to laugh. We shook hands, and I walked.
I think the car had been driven hard. Not often enough (lots of sitting around) and fairly well maintained...not great...but pretty good.
