And so you should -- the 993 Turbo is still the high water mark (sorry) of 911's. Especially when properly converted to 2WD and set up on halfway decent suspension. And the recession has crushed prices. Some extraordinary cars on the market lately.

Sounds like you experienced the kinematic set. Basicly you cannot defy the laws of physics even with awd. If you had a two wheel drive you'd be into a barrier.

I can remember leaving the car wash (sideways) a few times in my TT.. you know the how the asphalt is like a strippers skin for the first few hundred feet...FUN stuff....

I confess to be too big of a pu__y to smoke them on dry pavement (because it just seems too abusive), but I can say that the car slides more predictably from the apex toward the edge compared tp any street car I know. Especially when wet, but realistically (if you have the *****) you can do it while dry, you can take a super tight line and then use "excess" throttle to slide the car towards the outside until you have used the whole road (track or lane). I know it is not the fastest line, but I will say that taking a tight, twisty backroad at a speed that has you sliding from center until you decide to hook up and rocket to the next turn is very fun.

The "fix"?
2WD conversion. Then it is much more predictable
