Default Anyone here ever own/drive a 996 GT3?

How do you compare the 993TT to the 996 GT3 from a driving perspective? Also curious to hear your thoughts on the 996 GT3 and the depreciation curve - it would seem to me that the 996 has a bit more to go and the 993TT much less so, and perhaps on the upswing.

GT3 is much more demanding to drive on the track. Lap times about the same with equivalent drivers. GT3 is a rough ride on the street.

996GT3-just not enough torque for my tastes. No car will replace my "tweaked" 993TT.

Agreed. I was surprised how much more aware you are of the rear end's weight in the 996 GT3 than the 993TT. If both are stock, the GT3 is more fun and visceral than the 993TT, but with a few tweaks, the 993TT is just as visceral if not more.

The 997 GT3 is another animal all together; a lot easier to drive and very comfy on the street. And the sound... completely blows both the 993TT and 996 GT3 away! That's is the only car I'd consider trading my 993TT for... But, they need to depreciate a good 5 years first

The 996 GT3 is a much better track car than the 993TT IMHO- it just takes more skill to drive fast.

I went from:
993TT-996 GT3 ->997 Gt3-> 997.2 C2S.

the 996 seemed like a more modern car. Its much stiffer than the 993 TT. You can tell that the 993 is an older hand made car with lots of squeaks and rattles. You can make into a track car but the 996 GT3 is a better weapon. In fact if you are going in that direction then just move to the GT3. Its faster than a stock TT but then so is my 09 C2S. I think the 996 is a bargain in the GT3 format. It really does feel like a leap forward in technology
