Well the deleted sunroof, rear seat and AC is certainly rare. That in itself would have required a special order.

However, I've never heard of it called "factory lightweight". But it certainly qualifies to be, to some extent, with those items deleted.

Maybe he checked off the "club sport" option...

I saw the same listing. Has anyone contacted the owner?

Hmmm...

In any case it sounds pretty damn cool.
I'd guess (only a guess!) that the owner named it that because of the deletes.

I was curious about this car, and e-mailed the seller.

It is a 2-owner car. Owner #2 originally sold the car to owner #1 (a Microsoft employee with a large car collection. Gates?? Allen???). Owner #2 always loved the car, and bought it back from the original owner.

Here is a pic:

Really? I thought the first ad was in this month's issue of Panorama.

The ad been on and off the pca internet site for a while. Either that or it's been listed on one of the pca regions sites.

Ok, thanks, Phil. I normally don't ever see those sites.

Default Thanks for this thread!

I saw the pic of the car and description and I thought... "I know this car!" How many 993tt's this color with these options (deletions I should say) can there be? Especially with the Pac NW back story, M-Soft connection, etc.

So today I called the guy who owned this car or so I thought. It turns out he merely owns one of the other 3 or 4 993tt's in the US that is specced out just like the one for sale here. Weird science!

We had not spoke in a few years so we got all caught up and such. Turns out he had a bike that he was looking to unload for a song so I ended buying it for my shop inventory. So that is my happy ending to this story.

He did say he knows of the car for sale, the one that is the subject of this thread and in 'pano. He said to basically tread carefully, get all the stories, PPI, etc. He did not go into much detail but I got the feeling the car has some sort of history so buyer beware.

Thanks again Rennlist!
