Default 993 turbo suspension

I am a new owner of a '97 tt. It has a Bilstein PSS9 suspension kit. Appearently the ride height with this kit can not be adjusted back to anything close the original height. I will not be on the track and do not particularly care for the apearence of the "lowered" look. I am considering installing a new Boge suspension to match the factory set up...Any thoughts? Also, is there a market for the PSS9 kit I may be removing? The car has just over 46,000 miles and I have no idea when the Bilstein kit was installed.
Thanks for the help and I look forward to being a part of the Turbo Community.

You will find that almost everyone on this board thinks the U.S. stock ride height looks pretty high and pretty silly, and putting the car to Euro ride height is much preferred. The PSS-9 kit is very highly regarded, and is considered a major step up from the stock suspension. Take your time before you think about undoing this modification. And yes, you can probably find a buyer for the PSS-9, provided the shocks are in decent shape. Changing the shocks/springs is a pretty labor intensive job and requires a complete realignment when you are done.

You should keep the PSS9s, but if you do sell send me a pm on your price and location.

Your first investment should be in a shinny new Rennlist membership.

I will be the first to request pics of your tt.

Cheers!

The PSS9 setup can has a good amount of adjustment.
Not sure if you can get to US-spec ride height. if that is what you are shooting for.
Pix would help as a point of reference.

They can always be rebulit by Bilstein for a nominal price.

I would install the HR setup at RoW ride ht, only about 10mm lower than US and looks way better.

Thanks for the thoughts. Ruffy's encougement has helped me decide to stay with the PSS9 set-up.

What is the general forum thinking with regard to making/keeping the car as original as possible, including a front end re spray to reapir 13 years of road rash.

BTW, this is my 4th Porsche. I started with a '69 912 in the late '70s followed by a ground-up resto of a 1964 SC cab, then a '96 993 cab and now, finally the TT.

You should make the car the way you want it. If the rock chips bother you (they would bother me), then by all means do a respray. Just take photos to show that it is not hiding any damage. Also, most on this board would remove the front rubber bumperettes (aka warts) "while you are in there". Again... do what makes you happy. None of this will affect resale. I even took the headlight washers off (useless and ugly... in my opinion) to get the cleaner look I wanted.

+1

the exception might be a really low mile "collector"

I'm not sure 46k miles qualifies for a collector. I really like this car so far and would like to, at least, have the componants of the original including the CDR-210 and the tire compressor. Both missing. I would like to change the front bumper to the "S" style and maybe the wheels to the 2-piece cup.
Once again, I look forwrd to sharing the knowledge of this group.

Keep the PSS9s. Stock Boge shocks wear out fast as hell. Just have the car realigned and ride height set to Euro.

My next upgrade is to PSS10's. You should keep the Pss9's.

I just did a front respray cuz I couldn't stand all the chips. As long as you take pictures so you can show not hiding damage, you should be fine.

Would someone please explain the difference between PSS9's and PSS10's ?

I have 9's on mine. I can't imagine going back to stock...
