I love my turbo, but I'm thinking I'd like to rip out the 4wd and gut some of the interior to save some weight and cut down on Tire, brake & rotor wear.

Converting to 2WD is easy and fully reversible. I prefer the car in 2WD. But it won't save you a jot of tires or brakes. The only way to improve the brake performance is to improve the driver. You're already clearly an aggressive, confident driver and you're passing less competent drivers in cars with more potential than a stock 993 Turbo. Having owned the 996 GT3, 997 GT3 and 993 Turbo (at the same time) I'm confident a well set up (handling) and tweaked (power) 993 Turbo in 2WD is by far the most exciting and challenging and rewarding of the three. Plus it sounds great even if you're just closing the door! : )
