How well does the AC work in the 993tt's? I've got an '89 911 and am used to an AC that doesn't work well, but when I upgrade to a 993tt it would be nice to have some cool air. It doesn't hit 104 but it's still hot and muggy in SC

It's definitely an upgrade from an '89 era car, but still not great. If you're used to the '89, you'll be happier with a 993 a/c.

The day I got my "Hey Wait For Me Racing Team Official Title of "Team Biological Heat Stress Test Dummy" It was 106 at Buttonwillow and I had left my helmet in the sun, popped it on jumped in the car and nearly passed out in the pit row.
I dunked my head in a cooler of ice water, cranked up the ac and off we went.
I personally think the ACXworks great, but then again my baseline is my very first car...A 1969 E-Type Jaguar.....

Honestly it's not too bad. I think the center vent(s) configuration could have been a little better.

If it gets too hot though, I just lean a little to the right and cool off for a bit, however the AC issue is nothing compared to the enjoyment of driving this car!

Man, your aren't joking about the heat. I'm visiting in-laws in Houston this week and it's brutal. I can't imagine taking my car out in this kinda heat.

Repeat after me, "It's not the heat that gets you in Houston, it's the HUMIDITY!" I remember days of 95 degrees and 90% humidity - can't imagine what 100+ with that humidity would be like.
edit: Sorry, just noticed you're in Corpus - closer to the water and maybe not quite as humid as Houston.

You guys dont have a CLUE!!!! Ridgecrest is the gateway to Death Valley. We live in the only place in the WORLD that has a 7.0 on the insolation(energy from the sun) worldwide scale. Even the sahara has only a 6.2. The OUTBACK?? 6.7. Average July Temp has been 113 with enough humidity to make our evaporative coolers not work(our AC). I ordered a split ductless AC (mitsubishi mr slim) for my living room. As soon as it showed up in August 3 temps dropped 15 degrees.
Any way the new ventilated seats in my new 997.2 suck air through the seat which comes from the AC.
Its too cold even at 114 ambient at its #3 setting. I put it on the lowest setting with AC on auto.

BTW I grew up in Dallas and San Antonio so I know what humidity is.
(just so you know I am in Mammoth Lakes todays high 67 low of 38)

we are having the coldest summer I can remember. rarely gets to 80 degrees this year and almost no humidity (which we normally get a lot in summer). the electric company says it has surpluss power because no one is using a/c.
Meanwhile Vancouver is having the hottest summer in 30 years. things are messed up.

I find that the 993 AC does well until about 95 degrees. Then it is just OK. If you leave it sitting in a sunny parking space, it takes a long time to cool off.

Not complaining, just an observation. All in all, I think it works well.

+1. Mine is fine here in Houston. It does work well. Not up the level of my wife's Touareg...but I honestly don't care. When I'm in either of my cars in the summer, I get in prepared to sweat. My 964 Turbo is insanely HOT. I get out of the car (in the sun in Houston, mind you) to cool off.
