Default Lightweight flywheel and clutch

I needed a new clutch on my 1996 993tt at 91,000 miles, so I searched this forum to get some idea on the pros and cons before deciding to go with a lightweight flywheel. As many have mentioned, it does make the car drive better, rev quicker and feel more connected to the driver. The downside for some was some additional mechanical noise which I find strangely comforting. When you start the car, it seems to leap into action so I keep my foot off the throttle.

Good to know as I have recently debated and debated. I have decided to go with Kevin's (Ultimate) LWF package for my Turbo R. It will be installed in the next couple of weeks. Fingers crossed...

I really like mine. Luckily it was already in my car when I bought it, but it revs really easily. I don't stall anymore now either
My house is on a hill, so when I power up the driveway you can hear it chattering away. Sounds great!

I like mine as well. Car is much more responsive than the C4S. Only issue is that the clutch is a bit tricky and you have to be very smooth from a standing start. If you rev her high after you get going ( and why wouldn't you? ) the LWf is really good.

Patrick, you should be seeing your LWF kit shortly. Please try and keep off the "power" for a few hundred miles.

AHI, the cost for the Sachs LWF kits is $1,975.00 For the street and DE events Ultimate Motorwerks includes the GT3RS "sprung" clutch disk which retains the stock driveability.

Thanks Kevin. I cannot wait to get my car back. Thanks for the advice to take it easy for a few hundred miles. Same advice Copans gave me on the syncros.

I have the pressure plate and clutch disc that came in one of these umw kits I'd sell 1/2 off.
Used for couple hours, they look like brand new basically.
It didn't hold the 660 ft-lb rear wheel torque on the dyno so was replaced with a stronger pressure plate.

What did you replace it with to hold the TQ? Is your new set up still acceptable for daily street use?

Some kind of sachs I think that's supposed to be good for 1000 ft-lb torque. It modulates almost like stock.
