recommended 993tt upgrades

Most of the problems have surfaced from folks who "clean" their elements and re-oil them with too much oil. But how do you know what's too much oil to cause the problem? It's not much of a science with a spray can applicator.
Just my $.02.

You "might" be right (depends on how you drive it on the street), but ... it was a recommended addition by the factory when upgrading even to their 450 hp kit, which is not the most aggressive of upgrades. Good insurance.

My understanding is that you won't see any "problems" without the extra oil cooler, but in hot weather, it is almost certainly pulling timing and thus pulling the extra power of upgraded turbos.

For street use the 993tt is much more than adequate. My favorite mods:
(1) SSK, completely changes the 'feel' of every shift. Unquantifiable improvement.
(2) PSS10s. lower the car if nothing else. Corners like heck to boot.
(3) RS front splitters and side skirts: much more aggressive look.
(4) 130 cell race CATS. incredibly deep rumble exhaust note after wards.
If you really want performance, then get Kevin's high flow hybrid turbos. They are superb. But once you touch the power 'switch', the endless slope begins.

Though the NB and WB front bumpers are interchangeable, the N/A front bumper and the Turbo front bumpers are different, so the splitters are out. Also, the WB cars have different side rocker panels (where the side skirts mount).

Looks like you live in cooler climate. Ambient temps above 90 deg. will need aux cooler with 450 hp upgrades.

Ambient certainly effects performance, but the biggest heat issue w/a TT is the cats....too bad you're here in SoCal...be great to run the car w/o cats....those cats simply bake the engine....I've got Kevin's 100 cell 130mm cats and no mufflers...sounds good....but maybe not DD material.

I would look into changing exhaust system. Fabspeed, has a good one, just replaced my old modified exhaust with the one from Fabspeed. Will post results in few days.
