If you want to have some fun, go to a site called "419eater.com". It was started by a guy in the UK who got fed up with these scammers. They basically waste their time and mess with them (in a safe way) by pretending to not know what is going on and then stringing them along with wild goose chases and other activities. The idea is to time them up (so they can't scam other people) and to make them hesitate the next time they consider trying this crap on other innocent people.

It does little in the long run, but it does provide a nice warm feeling and a some sense of justice.

Default Total Scam

This is just like the guy from the UK responding to a house and apartment I
had for rent claiming to not being able to be present for the signing of leases
etc and would you take his benefactors check blah blah blah
then cash said bogus check to pay for delivery of said bogus furniture!
geez if these guys spent this energy on something legitimate they'd surely get
somewhere...
of course here comes said BOGUS check for double my asking and security...
suuuuuuuuuuurrrrrrrrre I'm gonna deposit that.....!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Same guy wants to buy my 9 years old E39 M5 rotors for $50. He wants to send me $2,000 and I wire him back the balance.

Where is the FBI when I needed them???

I've been collecting scam checks since 04 when I was selling my C4, probably have close to $200k worth now. I love stringing them along and getting their hopes up. At first it was just to waste their $ on the overnight envelope. But now, I'll even go so far as to scan them a fake Western Union form so that they'll go down to ask for the funds. What can I say...I hate scammers. By the time I have gotten bored with the emails, I'll usually send them a pic of my Bulldog, Kimo, with the check made out to him. It really gets them steamed!! I know...I need a life.
