Default Is it hokey to put on Ruf Accessories

I really like the Ruf cars a lot, but wonder if it's hokey to put RUF accessories on my car. I know many of you have spent scads of money on RUF upgrades in engine and suspensions, just curious what your take is.

I would never sink Ruf money into my car, but I do like the wheels and some of the interior trim modifications. Of course, I also like the Tequipment just as well.

Thoughts?

I like their aux oil cooler. There's no way it's poseur-ish to put that on...regardless of other mods, or lack thereof.

What? I have a RUF badge on mine! (But don't consider myself a poser - it is real.) edit:....joking....

Go for it. They have great stuff and most all of it is tasteful and functional. I love all of my Ruf stuff. The wheels look great, are very strong, and are easy to clean. So what if they are "boat anchors". The shifter is fantastic as is the steering wheel. I would like the pedals and door sills.

If you do buy the wheels, I suggest ordering the center caps with the RUF logo painted.

I got it - it was a lame attempt at humor.

BTW, your car looks great. I really like the ruf bumpers. I would consider that mod, but I really like my factory installed turbo s kit.

Is the shifter the same one that you can buy through Gert at Carnewal? I was considering that one, but it seems that it hangs below the car somehow? (WTF?)

Mine isn't a Ruf, and there's no Ruf badges on it but I have the wheels and brakes....no badging, but people still think its a Ruf....Wheels are heavy, but about the best looking wheels around. The Ruf pedigree stuff is a bone of contention (converted vs. Ruf Vin) just about everywhere....so put what you like on it...be it Ruf or other brand and enjoy.

The believe that the shifter is unique to RUF. The short shift kit for the 993 4, 4s and turbo creates problems on the underside. Not the shifter.

I agree with those who say do whatever makes you the most happy with the car. And remember, bolt-on parts are easily removed :-)
