Default 993 flex

I've recently read that the 993's are noted to experience a fair amount of chassis flex. I'm having a tough time believing that. Would anyone here be kind enough to speak to that issue (or non-issue).

When test driving a 97 C2S recently, I noticed some creaking around the windshield area, which translated to me to be body flexing.

I think my body is also bent because I have really "slam" the door shut.
Damn these 993's.....damn them all.

I tried to dig out some numbers for you but couldn't find anything - certainly when Porsche changed from 3.2 Carrera to 964 there were some impressive numbers given for improvements in chassis flex - seem to remember some huge numbers like 40% (but 40% of what was never told ?) - the 993 was supposedly improved again and of course the new stuff 996 onwards will be a lot better with much more modern and clever use of different materials in vital places giving rise to this sort of diagram:

I had extra body strengthening done internally in my 993tt (do a search for pics) but there was no difference which I could detect....

The noise that you are hearing around the windshield is fairly common in 993's. It is usually corrected with a new windshield gasket/ seal when replacing the front glass. I replaced the glass in my previous 993 and had the seal replaced and the noise went away. My TT had the same thing done by the PO and it is silent too.
