Default It's good to be back!

Hi all,
It's been about 3 years since my last Turbo. It was Turbo 3.6.
Anyway, my search has come to an end and on Friday I picked up my latest girlfriend.
She's a 96 and had 63000 km's on her. She's Arena and has an amazing sound system. This was a bonus. I had no idea until i saw her. It's had a full custom install with 3 amplifiers and an active crossover system.
I never knew about the stereo, and it was a cool surprise, but even better than that....it has a LWF thats only 5000k's old! The previous owner spent a lot of money on this car. The interior is mint and grey. The tyres are almost new and the service history is all there.
I do have a small issue of a leak (green fluid) that i thought was the power steering, but I reckon it's the air con or something. The air con was recharged while i waited for the car on Friday, yet today it blows warm air. This sucks as we are already into summer. But I thought it was the power steering. I will need to look into this further. Everything around the pipes and rack are all bone dry. I have attached a pic at the bottom of the place it's leaking.
Still, even that can't dampen my spirits today!

congrats, nice! another Arena red car. (don't know about the green stuff, you're probably right about the air con since I'm don't think any of the other fluids are green)

Thanks,
I asked the man in the know. He thinks it's coming from the condenser behind the dash somewhere. It is air con related.
At least thats all it is. seems like nothing now.

Sounds like someone put UV Dye in the A/C system to find the leak. It appears as if the Evaporator is leaking. At least it will be an easy diagnosis but probably a reasonably expensive one. Beautiful car. Enjoy it.

Congrats on a beautiful car. Enjoy.

I might be wrong, but I think the AC condensor is in the left front fender... expensive part, but easily replaced. The AC evaporator, on the other hand is buried in the bowels of the car at the front firewall. The rumor is that the 993 assembly starts with the condensor, and the rest of the car is assembled around it. Very nasty labor to replace it. Very best luck on this fix... keep us posted.

Mike
Not too sure about the slippery slope just yet. I need to get over the pain of buying the car first.
I do hate the tail pipes though, and the lack of sound, but that's just to have to wait for a little while.
This car is so nice. All I have to do is find this A/C leak now and I will be right.

NIce car!!

AND the wheel is on the right side!!

Get the A/C sorted - it is going to be BRUTAL over here this year too!

I have some FVD exhausts for sale - and it cant be THAT much to ship to NZ from here? That will address the noise = the tail pipes can be addressed here :

Nice car ,soft spot for Arena Red myself! That rubber under the center is a drain for
the evap system under front cowling, likely expansion valve leak with green dye to view...the valves are only 25.00 ,but install can be exorbitant....ask me how I know?

that is THE best color combo in the history of Porsche. I did a study and out of that research( I asked Steve OFE or Ca993twin) I discovered that Arena red with grey was the best color.
