Default Thinking about changing exhaust, etc...

What seems to be the best setup for performance, sound, looks. I currently have a Cargraphic on there now. I was thinking about Fabspeed but someone told me about ground clearance problems and fitment issues. I had a TechArt setup in the 94 3.6T that I used to have and it was sweet. Any suggestions?

I have Fabspeed mufflers and stock everything else. The car is too quiet. I feel it would be a waste of $$ to install them without mod'd cats for more sound.

if you want sound go by pass. then you can also pass emissions if necessary, plus get a few extra horsies to play with

I went with Fabspeeds with large tips. Car sounds great, not too load, but growls nicely when pushed.

I've been prodding at AWE to start making 993tt exhausts again. Unfortunately the reality is that our market is tiny, and unless some kind of group buy were arranged it would not be worthwhile for them. I gutted a set of stock mufflers and found they are pretty much a straight thru design, and so I just removed the fiberglass/steel wool packing to reduce weight and increase sound volume. I am pretty pleased with the result. I combined the gutted mufflers with Fabspeed cat bypasses. The newer Fabspeed modular system looks tempting and should not have the fitment issues many of us experienced with the original bypass design.

Check out the sound of the latest version of the RSR's for the 993 turbo.
Robin sells them in the US.

Mike,

RSR's is great, I had them on my car before. I'm currently running GHL bypasses and 200 cell cats... it's loud but I like it!

I have Danske "export" sport mufflers that are quite raspy, louder than stock by a good margin (not motor boat sounding like some others) and yet do not drone at all in the car. I got them through FVD and are stainless and easy to install yourself. Hope this helps. Pat

Were only the mufflers changed out?

With Sport cats/bypasses?

How do you get in touch with Robin in the US?
