Default Bad driveshaft...need advice

The car was making a loud ticking noise. We ran the car while up on the lift and heard the noise from inside the driveshaft.

I was told that this part is not servicable, and would cost $4000 from Porsche.

Has anyone else had this issue? Does anyone make an aftermarket version? Would a used one be a bad idea?

I've got my old one from the 2wd conversion if you want it. I'm never going back

Bill,

I show the driveshaft center tube part number to be 964-421-012-AX and it was a rebuilt from Germany. Cost was $1,527.53 from an indy. Shipping was an additional $170. Don't know if this is your required part or not.

PS- did you sell Ben's car yet? Nice car!

Yes, that is the part number. I have a couple of leads on used ones. I think I'm going to go that route.

Ben still has the car. He's not super motivated to sell.
