Default Selling it

http://losangeles.craigslist.org/sfv/car/770620001.html

Too hard for me to justify the 993tt with growing twin boys to care for.

Asking $60k. About right? Opinions appreciated.

Looks great, but I think that 60k is very unrealistic. Perhaps over 10k high. But the car does look awesome, it is just that 72.5k miles will eliminate most of the buyers in your asking range. Best of luck. Hope you get it.

I don't think 60K is too high at all. Get the most for it start at 60K and see what happens, 70+ miles is on the high side but you never know. Looks real clean. Don't let anyone low ball you for it not unless you have to sell it quick

60K: not a problem. I would pay $$60K for this car if it checks out OK....and if I didn't already have a 993TT with 72K miles on it.

No way is $60k too high. Here's what you get for $50k: https://rennlist.com/forums/993-turbo-forum/446150-avoid-this-car.html

Good luck TwinPop, nice looking car. $60k sounds about right.

Very-very nice 993TT!

It will never sell for $60K. Maybe $48K. Cars with less than 20,000 miles are not even selling right now for over $60K. The operative word here is "selling" I am not talking a stated or advertised price.

Until you are in the actual buying/selling market you really don't know sitting on the sidelines and watching.

JMHO.

I think 60k is a great price, you've no idea how much more expensive these models are over in Europe. I'm seariously considering selling my 965 here and investing a a US car, the exchange rate is boom time for us.

good luck with the sale.

Here is the rest of the story about this car, Bill. I know about this car. I was owned by a doctor in Chicago. One owner car. Was damaged and painted, off the records, so it won't show up on a CarFax. It was also maintained by an off-duty Porsche mechanic because the PO was too cheap to have it properly maintained.

When it was for sale in Chicago area (back in March), the asking price was in the low-low $60's. Never sold. It went from a car broker to a used car dealership. The used car dealership found out about the damage and that it was misrepresented for having a bunch of "new" upgrades and enhancements that were not properly done to the engine and exhaust. Looks like they dumped it at the dealership you posted.

An unknowledgeable buyer or a buyer who does not do their proper due diligence, is very-very likely to over-pay for a purchase. Any type of purchase... be it a luxury watch, a home, or a 993TT.

So, how is your sale going?

Steve, I would agree with you. The exchange rate makes for a great value proposition in your part of the World.

The last time I sold a car, it was my 94 Signal Green Turbo. I had one **** (actually had several) that tried to convince me that my car was worth 10-15K less than what I bought it for and it hadn't been even a year. When it was all said and done I had 3 people wanting it bad and sold it for over than what I paid, and made up the 5-6K I put into it. The people that low ball you are just trying to make a profit for themselves and they'll make every excuse in the book to justify their price. Trust me you can sell that car for at least 60K.

I think 55k would be a fair price.
