So, I'm keeping the 993 and looking to do a few things to spruce it up. Here's my list so far, with the smaller things being "now" items and the bigger ones being sometime this year items.

- Rennline adjustable pedals
- New rubber trim rings around dash gauges (mine are cracked and faded)
- MY '97 intercooler hoses
- V1
- Buy another set of turbo twists and have them refinished with the lighter, metallic Turbo S finish
- Front-end respray and clear bra to get rid of stone chips

So what else can I do (on the smaller side of things) to add a bit of zest and "new" to my car? I already have the steering wheel, shifter, hand brake, and suspension setup.

I don't know your car, so maybe some of these have been done, but I suggest:

1) Painted Bumperettes, front & rear (from Bumperplugs)
2) Clear corner lights up front
3) Turbo S air ducts

I'll probably do the bumperette delete during the front respray and techart-style front ducts (I don't like the Turbo S style).

I don't wanna go $razy, but would consider some tuning with the stock turbos to improve responsiveness. Is that even possible?

I believe that you can get 430 HP or so with the K16 and some programming.

Maybe do an oil cooler and programming. Frankly, I think Kevin or RS can do a better program for 430 with K16s than Porsche could 12 years ago. It seems to be the consensus that most of the lag with the factory K24 450hp kit is due to non-ideal programming.

For under $200, Hollywood Speedometer will repaint your faded orange gauge needles. Really spruces things up.

You may want to consider new headlight lenses... its amazing when you see the new ones side by side with chipped and discolored older ones. Another little trick is painting the rocker panels to match the body color. I love doing little upgrades on my cars... it keeps them fresh and exciting. I just got some carbon fiber bits from Marcus... great quality and reasonable (for C/F) prices.

This is an interesting point and one I have thought about over the years and swayed one way to the other...

Porsche knew exactly how to program the new Bosch Motronic back in '95 and used a set of parameters which I guess they still use today (although with the "Sport Chrono" on the 997tt it seems that are allowing the engine to run that bit closer to knock for limited bursts) and those parameters can now as then be changed to bring more timing on and increased boost which may indeed improve throttle response, lag and accelration say between 60 and 130mph and could well wind a 7 second chassis dyno run up to ~490hp on the stock K24s....

It is higher up in "Autobahn Porsche performance territory" where the stock programming would probably show its mettle. I am still highly impressed with Phelix's 430PS stock Porsche engine dragging his tt up to (was it ?) 185mph on the Bruntingthorpe airstrip !!! This is very fast and shows that the stock programming is keeping all parameters spot on and allowing maximum timing under the massive loads at those speeds - this is what Porsche have always been about, delivering Autobahn supremacy

I will obviously concede that for a daily driver under normal sub 120mph driving conditions a tweaked Motronic program can create a much more responsive drive and I could not critisize anyone for going this route for a street car...
