Guys I am not trying to be difficult or nasty so lets not get nasty.

I have been at the track and all factory 993 CUP cars, 993 RSR cars, 993TT GT2s and 993GT2 EVO racecars all have NOT had any engine undertrays whatsoever and my sources at Porsche Motorsports emphatically stated that 993 undertrays were ONLY to make the 993 "streetcars" aircooled cars slightly quieter.........control the aircooled valve clatter.

Other engine builders for 993 street cars and race engine builders and numerous 993GT2 EVO factory brand new and older race cars that I have seen at the 24 Hours At DAYTONA and 6 hours at Watkins Glen International........when the 993TT GT2 EVO cars were competitive back then.........had no undertrays ever. At Daytona or Lemans these cars had no issues and most German tuners dont use the undertrays.........I am sure you will tell me I am wrong.

So these racecars and Porsche Club racers with 993TT cars are running over 325KPH and 200MPH and the cars run fine. If you want to run your undertray that is fine.........if you want to use aftermarket headers to make more power you may have to trim the fiberglass Porsche 993TT undertray which will be an easy solution.

FWIW I know of several club racers around here, none have that tray still in place.

We've had this undertray discussion before. A couple of facts worth pointing out:

In the 993 turbo shop manual (the maintenance section of the first volume) Porsche categorically states not to drive above 95 mph without the undertray in place

All of the cars 993 RS ClubSport mentions have significantly different aero packages and ride heights than the factory 993tt. This *may* make the undertray unnecessary.

Are the "supercup" mufflers different from the "maxflo" mufflers?

Hey badabing, yes they are different. We only carry the Supercup Exhaust for the 993TT now. The Maxflo muffler was discontinued about a year ago for the 993TT, because there wasn't much of a sound difference over stock on that car, so it needed a more sportier exhaust. We may still be able to do it if that's what you're interested in. Let me know if you have any questions and PM if you need any pricing or other info.

thanks,
I'm confused. It a recent thread by Hildonsmith it seems that he recently received and installed Maxflo mufflers. In fact there was a question if he received supercups in error. It was confirmed that they were Maxflo. How could that have been if they were discontinued?

Hi Badabing, there was some confusion on the name of this product. This product is called the Supercup Exhaust, not the Maxflo. But many people were getting it confused with our Maxflo Muffler name. So yes, hildonsmith did receive the supercup exhaust, that's why it was a little too aggressive for him and he also experienced some drone with it, which is common when going to such a free-flowing system.
thanks,
