I just joined the club as well. Picked this one up 3 weeks ago and managed to put 3,500 miles on it during a family version of the Cannonball Run! I'm just 2 miles shy of 14,000 miles. Car is Pearl White with Rubicon Grey interior. Unfortunately, I drove the yellow car during the trip and found myself wanting a new GT3 too!

Nice looking TTS, you're among a select few...I read through your post on 933, I bought mine in August of last year with 8,400 miles, it now has 10,059 miles.

Your TTS is the second I have seen with factory optioned colored wheels.

Nice! That swimming pool/garage sounds awsome. I figured this seemed like a good place to make my first post

Nice TTS! Can you describe how the power and torque of the GT3 compare to the 993?

I can't really address power and torque disparity because my TTS was increased to 3.8 liters with GT2 heads and ECU remapping, putting my Turbo near 600 hp, but I will say that the GT3's suspension felt much better set up than my car. In the twisties I felt like I was floating in the TT while the GT3 tracked very tight. Otherwise, the most noticeable difference for me was the short shifter and cabin ergonomics.

Ahh, didn't realize that, thanks.

According to the receipt from the fellow I purchased the car from, GT2 heads are part number NPNGT2CH @ $3800 and went along with larger pistons and a $7417 mechanic line invoice to increase motor size to 3.8 Litres???
By the way, I like the fact that the two white cars are out in the rain. I bet they create great rooster tails when taken through a thunderstorm!
Attached image are some of the other toys in my garage and I sure do wish that white GT3RS was there!

I don't think there is any such thing as a "GT2 head" , the stock 430PS/450PS road GT2 wore stock 993tt heads. The 3.8 GT2 EVO race engines had extensive modification and the head which one started with could have been one of a few which Porsche listed for the 993.

When I needed a new set of heads I was given 3 (or more, can't remember) options including bog stock, and then different race options. I chose bog stock which were then machined into twin plug EVO specification with the fin welding, grooves for sealing rings and chamber work, all the mechanical valve gear to work with the EVO cams, bigger valve installation and there is also some machining work done for them to fit the 3.8 cylinder sets - this last bit is probably where the $3800 went ?

The set of new raw heads alone from Porsche was $10K

Nice collection BTW

This might explain some of the comments a friend of mine in the SF Bay Area has been making about this engine rebuild, although he admits to being familiar with cars that only have engines well in front of the rear axle. The previous owner spent roughly $27K repairing the motor after he "bent a valve". Can anyone give me an idea of what might be entailed in such a repair, considering an increase to 3.8 litres? The invoice parts list includes items such as pistons, cylinder heads, exhaust valves, exhaust rings, bearings, timing chain, rod bolts and bearings. What else might I expect (or want) to see? Thanks fo rthe guidance
