Default chicago anyone?

anyone with a tt in chicago? i have owned a 96 tt for about 6 months and have yet to see another one around town this winter. its been a long winter here, but i have been banging around in mine sans snow tires. driving on p-zeros is brutal even when the streets are dry. i am downtown (river west)...lemme know if you're out there.

There's a pretty good reason you haven't seen any other 993's: salt.

I can barely stand the thought of a 993TT on salty roads.

I'm in Chicago! When the weather warms up we should all get together. I know of two other tt's and one of them is on this forum

993RS fronts splitters, side skirts, and rear spoiler. None of that stuff fits on a widebody though.

Mine's not a TT, but let me know if you want to get together for coffee, a run, etc...in the spring, not quite yet!

Are they the big oval tips or the smaller ones? How much for just tips?

Anyone interested in getting together, weather permitting, early this Saturday morning, 4/12, for "cars and coffee"? The Starbucks nearest to me (just east of Oak Park Avenue & Lake Street in Oak Park) usually has good street parking at that time, and is pretty centrally located relative to the rest of Chicagoland.

Just want to guage interest. I usually like to drive early on Saturdays or Sundays, as you know how bad the traffic is around here most of the time.

FYI, I am cross-posting on the Central US Region and 993 boards.

Slawek...thats my line. My 'incident' at RA may result in a nice 968 bumper on my 944T. Hope you get your car back soon too.

Dean - Spring already ? Damn, but my insurance kicks on May 4th but maybe I'll move that up. I am waiting for my 993 maitenance kit from Sunset this week. I'd be up to a fun run out west where the roads have less traffic. Sunday would be preferrable for me. Whats your idea of a route ?

Steve,

The drive south from 294 to Route 171 by Cog Hill Golf Club is pretty nice. It has some curves and elevation changes along the way. It might be nicer further past the club also, not sure.

I just did that on my inaugural spring drive this past Saturday, but am always looking for new routes in the area. Do you have any favorites?

Sorry your insurance doesn't kick in for a while - I personally can't wait that long to get my car out!

Hoping at least a few others might be up for a cup of joe this Saturday.

We were all at Autobahn this weekend. Weather was great and getting the tt out on the track was a blast!

Lets try to meet closer to downtown, most of us seem to be in that area and would rather not drive to the subs
