Default Twin Plug Parts

For the guys w/twin plug set up....what do you use for electrics? Electromotive or what? Obviously, no room for a 2x distributor.

Thanks,
R

Stock NA ignition parts and wires, FVD ECU, cut and weld notch in heat system to clear distributors.

I bought my parts from Turbokraft. 993 NA distributor(used) and signal splitter were main parts. Then headworks (double spark holes) done at Mode Inc.
ECU was reprogrammed but that TS conversion didn't do any difference for normal ECU programming. That just makes possible to use less advance (for same power target) and thus increase safety marginal for possible heat problems.
Remember to weld heads at same and do proper flame ring grooves to cylinders.

It is better to reprogram ECU because TS version has more efficient fuel burning phase..
so if you use stock timing, it causes more heat but it also gives then more power..
But if you change also other parts at same, like turbos, cams, etc, reprogramming is must. And when you get proper ECU tuning on dyno, then you can get best available tuning for your combination - so I don't ever recommend aftermarket ECUs for that purpose because every motor/tuning packet is unique and to get 110% off from that, you always need unique ECU programming.

What's "TS version"??? You mean the twin plug version?

So if I go twin plug, I need to go back to my tuner..Kevin @UMW and ask him to do another ECU?

TS=TwinSpark = twin plug

Yes, you need a new ECU program version what is tested and purposed to use in your case. Maybe Kevin has done that kind of chip which is for similar specs than your combination. Then that is ok but if you have possibility to visit him with your car when you have all mods done, then it will be even better.

LA964RS

It is not an option I am afraid, you need to reprogram your engine/ECU on a dyno if you are after proper results. I use stock ignition parts for my twin plug conversion.

"Dizzy"? not sure what it means? I have a 993 N/A dual distributor. This is the same setup as most use I believe including Andial and RS ( mine is Proto). I have a very basic twin OEM coil ignition setup and don't seem to need more than that I guess.

I don't see how the twin distributor "fits"....Looks like it'd be too tight at the turbo tube. Anyone have pics?

That is not even difficult.. see picture :

There are much more complicated mods also available for your 993TT if you prefer..
