Alright John, thx. Didn't realize they are that sensitive.. I'm going to the states this summer, so I could put them in my bag as "carry on luggage". I guess that counts as ground post?

I'm not sure how the airlines and security feel about explosive devices in your luggage.

I have a black leather 3-spoke from an '01 996tt lying around. It's in perfect condition. No airbag. $350.00 takes it. Think I paid $400 for it.

But over there Gert should be a great choice... no exchange rate to deal with!
then again, you can't take advantage of the weak dollar I guess.

Right. Gert wants 400euro which is ~600usd. Plus I have to pay duties also (I think).

for me i think daves wheel the best deal as is is $800 which in reality will cost me £400 + shipping +vat (17.5%) so all in about £520 delivered to me, this does not include the airbag, the thick wheel from Gert is €760 which equates to about £580 delivered, the airbag is about the same in all locations so I will probibly pick it up from a steeler for about £314, ok the shipping from the states is longer but as i already have a wheel on my car that works I am not in a hurry

So how much work is it to replace my factory four spoke with a boxter or 996 3 spoke ?

Simple... 2 screws on the back side of the air bag.. Make sure you disconnect the battery and let the car sit about a 1/2 an hour before you start. One large bolt in the middle. You my have to take the old air bag screws from the old wheel and swap them over. The screws are a torx t-25 I think.
