Default Dallas Custom Wheel

Wow, I like the whole set-up. Would love info on cost, as I have been planning to replace the grey 4-spoke wheel with a 3-spoker that is black with red stiching, and then change the shifter and brake to black with red stiching to make it all relate to red belts and my red "turbo" script on black mats. I know it sounds a little fancy-boy, but the sea of grey is just not me.

Black with red would look great.
The cost was really reasonable, I think. The turn around time was amazingly fast. About a week each time (I did the wheel first, then the other parts)
Recovering the wheel and added padding was about $300
The shift boot and shifter work was $65
The tray was $75
The eBrake was $50

All of this stuff was a first for him so I don't know if the price would be the same, go up or go down... I'd bet he will charge more for the tray now. It wasn't easy.
By the way, no affiliation at all with Dallas Custom Steering Wheels... just a customer.

Cool!
You use the tip buttons for radio controls? Thought I'd seen that done somewhere...

Since I decided to make mine a "sleeper" with prodigious power upgrades but as near to acceptably stock appearance, so I merely placed a gold Porsche crest on the 993TT OEM steering wheel:

Al,
I have yet to see the console that you have with the P crest by your shifter. Was this the factory phone converted for your IPOD?? I like--more info.

OK--before the insults come in. Upon closer inspection it looks like a black berry "type" device. But please do elaborate.

Yes,

I replaced the factory analog phone with my Blackberry and set in to the factory cashmere console a compatible cradle. In addition, I wired in a Motorola Bluetooth attached to the dash which is otherwise stock, in keeping with the "sleeper" theme:

I wonder where the Porsche crest on the steering wheel would go if the airbag deploys? I'm thinking right between the eyes!

Given that it's glued on fairly tight, that seems quite unlikely. If the airbag ever has to go off, I'll report back with the results.

I remember reading that you are not supposed to put anything (stickers or otherwise) over the airbag. It is the driving equivalent of running with scissors!

you have to get the correct airbag, as the 4 spoke airbag is different, from my research the airbag can be as expensive as the wheel if you get them new, keep an eye on ebay as they come up on there quite often.

Deals can be had on eBay, but I have enough of a panic attack buying a cell phone on eBay, let alone something I'm going to count on to potentially save my life. Just saying...

As for my car, here's some hardcore **** (hard - carbon fiber - get it?). I love the wheel.
