Jean, it is amazing the little aero pieces and what helps where. I'm scheduled for a day of wind tunnel testing in a few months with my car and two customer BMWs. It should be interesting.
Eclou I must admit that I was scared sh!tless in the braking zone, the wall in front of you gets big VERY fast!! The forgiveness of the Michelin Cup slicks saved me quite a few times.
Stummel, there were plenty of German drivers yesterday, in fact the second and third places were Germans, you guys have a very efficient information network if they send you any pics please share, I have none.. Looking forward to see you here sometime.
Geoffrey, I spend countless hours thinking about aerodynamics , it is not fun anymore, it is an obsession! ( I think TB993TT qualifies as well ) I observed with a lot of interest during our 24 hours recently how a couple of 997RSRs had very interesting parts..I have a couple of pics.
LAT Talking about wind tunnels, a little bird you know well told me yesterday that RUF was provided with excellent aerodynamics data through Sport Auto (their recent article) article, since Sport Auto has access to one of the best wind tunnels in the world.. I am sure some modifications to their front nose will shortly be made, it turned out that they had lift at 200kph which I am sure they did not know.. Maybe HP Lieb can comment if you talk to him?

Where you having full-scale wind tunnel testing performed? There are only a couple of laboratories in the USA that have the size and ability, as well as the speed to truely test.
This is one of the only full sized, car-available wind tunnels in the US and their by hour testing rate is rediculously expensive. If you have any sources that are more hidden, I would love to know as I have a car that desperately needs some analysis. Scale-model testing resulting in nothing being proved other then it needed work .
Will be speaking to HP on Monday on another matter, will bring this up and post what I can. I believe the Sport Auto wind tunnel belongs to the University of Stuttgart.
PS, I am now officially in the RS club, so many clubs so little time.
The car I would like to see in the wind tunnel is the 993TT for the purpose of establishing the best available aero pkg. There does not seem to be a lot of data available.
The ones that interest me the most are these combinations.
I wish there were more budget available as I would love to model [and tunnel] the 993 -- Rapid prototyping technologies are available in house that can reduce model costs by a HUGE amount.
