Default Good for a Chuckle

Sometimes I am amazed at the price hopes on the 993TT

Was looking around and ran across one in Reno that is Green on Beige. The miles are 71k and change. But with a "Call for Price" line. I sent off an email and got a mail back saying they want ........... wait for it .........$73k

They have had it for over 3 months from what I can tell. I am still shaking my head.

Oh well................

lol came across that one as well. Some of these people are just crazy, prices seem to very inconsistent accross the board for anything over 40k miles. That car is going to sit for a lot longer than three more months at that price!!

There are a lot of cars that are absurdly priced. The only way I can imagine them selling is some chump walking in off the street, seeing a good looking car he's never seen before, and buying it on the spot with no research.

The is one up here in the chicago area not on any websites at a VW dealer, with high miles (something like 50-55k ish), Arena red, GT2 front and rear spoilers, modded (huge IC but the guy had no idea what else was done) and they want $78k for it. It took everything I had to not burst out laughing. There's a sucker born every minute though I guess :/

50-55k miles is high for a 10-12 year old car

Good point, maybe high wasn't the best choice of words. However the vast majority for sale now seem to be below 50k miles from what I've seen so yes 50k miles seems to be higher for most of the cars on the market imo. The point that I was trying to make was the dealer asking so much for the car considering the mileage and mods.

Make em a realistic offer and leave your number when they laugh. Bet the phone rings in a week or so...

Yeah, it's amazing how low the mileage is on so many of the 993 TT's.

Well, when I was selling my 97 with 78k on the odo I got ZERO offers and trade in numbers were 35k to 45k. This is a 96 with more mods than mine had and in a not to popular color (I like green (not hot on Beige)). I would think 45 to 50 MAX on this car. Considering what some other members have bought other ones for recently with 50's miles.
