Default If only it were a Turbo........

I LOVE this color.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1997-...QQcmdZViewItem

Same color as Seinfelds old Turbo S I think. Too bad it's not a turbo and really too bad it's a tip. Would actually be a car to consider if it was a 6-speed

Anyone know what color it is?

A friend of mine is the in-house mechanic for Victory right now. He told me today that car is in very good condition - a solid car

Really? Does he have anything to say about all the bad press here and on pelican regarding misrepresentation of cars that are in poor condition?

Being in Houston and knowing almost all of the Porsche service advisors past and present, and most of the top techs (including former Victory employees), and living 3 miles from Ray Joseph's place, I have a pretty good pulse on things. I have heard that in general the cars at VM's are in general decent cars, but perhaps not quite as pristine as represented. Some of the more meticulous Porsche PPI guys are not welcome with open arms when they go to VM. That being said, its pretty much the same issues you are going to face anytime you go looking for 10+year old cars.

Fair enough. I was thinking more along the lines of paying off indy shops who are doing PPIs to misrepresent the vehicle to the customer (and the indy shop is just as guilty as VM). That isn't just "issues you're going to face shopping for an older Porsche." It's downright scummy business. Whatever, this isn't about their business, but about the car...I'll stop posting to keep this from straying off-topic.

Honestly I had not heard that angle. VM used to outsource all of their repair work to indy shops and the dealerships. Those repairs were done to fix things that were either obvious upon purchase by VM or found on buyers' PPI. More recently, VM has hired full time on-site Porsche techs (very good ones BTW) to go over the cars and make the necessary repairs prior to listings and PPI. I would say in general buyers need to be a little more scrutinous when looking at VM cars, whereas Ray's cars usually require little skepticism.

Neither. It's Turquoise blue like the ex-Jerry Seinfeld Turbo S.
