Thx for the update. It will be interesting to see if your impressions change after a few weeks. Oh, nice color combo too!

well weather has not been cooperating this weekend so I got acquainted with my new steed with some TLC

1)ultimate pedals from the 993 group buy
2)black Lloyd's mats with red turbo script
3)turbo stainless sills
4)replaced the burnt-out headlight switch lightbulb with a new Sylvania 2721
5)eliminated the outer windshield trim creaking using a cord of caulking gap foam

I took it out on the town Friday for dinner with the wife after driving home from Dallas. I think the wife was surprised what good condition the car was in. I am really thinking about leaving this one alone - it is so nice and tractable, and has just the right amount of feel and noise to it. I definitely can see why people happily return to these 993's after moving on to 996's and 997's. Some quick pix:

Very nice. Thanks for the sills. Too bad we didn't meet. I'm sure we will another day. Keep an eye out for a bright blue 965 with yellow brakes.

Cheers.

Ryan,

glad you got the sills. I would have hung out longer but my twins have to eat at a certain time or they freak out and life becomes extremely miserable. I saw you have a RAID wheel FS over on Pelican. Still available?

Yes, drive thru. Next month we are starting a remodel of the house and this back garage is getting expanded into a 4-5 car garage with a lift

Gene,
Nice looking 993, its amazing how much different the older cars feel compared to the new ones.
What brand are your garage floor tiles?

My tiles are RaceDeck. They are the same ones sold by Griot's but my wife bought them for me from Performance Products as they were quite a bit cheaper and had a discount coupon.

Just finished lowering the 993 with ROW M030 springs and the Bilstein HD's. Ride height looks so much better now!

Good luck. Great to see the old and new. The worst part of a 993 is the a/c - heat controls. They might as well put the unit in the front under the spare tire.
car looks great.. You have to do some turbo upgrades.....

Gene,

I did the same suspension with my 993TT-BilsteinHD's on MO30's (from Carnewal). BUT, I succumbed to the power upgrade temptation-and I bet in due course you will too-haha. I will say, however, that in stock form, the 993TT felt "peppier" than did my 996TT in stock form-I think it's partly the faster spoolup on the K16's on the 993TT versus the K24's on the stock 996TT, but partly also the smaller wheelbase of the 993TT made it feel "jumpier" too. In comparison, the 996TT (in stock form), was more GT-ish, quieter (in a bad way) and less fun. Can't wait to get my 993TT back from Protosport in the spring tuned into the 650HP range to compare to my 996TT-having most recently tweaked the EVO GT700 kit on it with their Hitachi MAF.
