Default Feedback please

I am selling my TT, I really don't want to but I need the cash to cover the cupcar and it's expenses. What in your opinions is the downside to my car at this price? Mind you the car is mechanically pefect and had been modded with the best parts. everything is new or rebuilt better than new. The car is not gutted and just needs street seats to be a street driver again. The cage comes out and the exhaust can be quieted down if you choose. Asking 75k. Over 100 into this car over the years, never hit or wrecked. Paint only for rock chips on the nose etc.

Well since you asked....for me coming out of one of these last year and street/track car on hold.

Car might be too much for a guy that only does 4-8 DE days a year and wants a weekend missle thats streetable. Thats some serious suspension there for street use, not to mention the seating and the HVAC has to be re-installed again and new street rubber as well. Interior pics might help a potential buyer with the car I would say whom might consider it for street use. I do think your limited in you buyers as it appears to be more suited as a track car. The mechincals look great as well as the mods and it does show well. As usual, at the end of the day its only worth what someone is willing to pay.

Best of luck

Thanks, I plan to put the OEM seats back in and take out the cage, it's a bolt in. Also I will put in my softersprings and raise up the ride height. The beaty of that suspension is that it's more adjustable than a stocker even a PSS9 on it. I realize the mods are not wanted but alot of guys here are buying TTs then spending 20 to 30k to mod them. The nice thing here is the mods are done and the car is mechanically perfect. Nothing to fix, I fixed it all already : ) I appreciate the feedback thanks

Most people buying 993TTs are incredibly discriminating, that's a fact when we're talking about 10-11 year old cars that cost this kind of money. People with such specific taste would often rather buy a car and spend extra to get it to the exact specs that they want. Your car, with its mods, seems a LOT more like a track car that's been kept legal than a street car with some performance mods. You should reinstall the OEM interior parts and mention in the ad that it comes with a bolt-in cage, Recaro seats w/ hardware, etc. as opposed to "you can make this a street car if you feel like putting in the effort (to paraphrase from a cynical buyer's point of view)." You might even be better off financially by selling those parts off. Are the tow hooks removable? If so, take them off. Then the buyer "can install these quickly for DEs." Reinforcing the "street car that can be tracked" idea. Good luck, if I were in the market for a modded car, yours would be on the short list!

Likely a lot of folks looking at a 993tt the first time just don't recognize what an awesome car you've built.
I think with the full cage you crossed over into 'track car' territory as that keeps one from driving it on the street safely. If you reversed the full cage, dash mod, ac/heater delete, seats, and crash bars, you'd end up with a daily driver that would smoke most everything at the track.
With that suspension, any potential buyer who drove it on a track would be sold instantly imo.

A local Rennlister bought a 993RSR and spent months selling his 993TT track car.. He dropped the price down to $45K

You aren't going to get a premium for your car with your mods.. The 993TT owners just won't pay for a track car with mods.. Look at what Scott has on his silver car that he is trying to sell.

Like people have said, take the parts off and sell them, or lower the price.

With the car being tracked, you really lose alot of interested buyers..

It's not bad on street tires. The hoosiers are no good since they pick up all the gravel. No rain driving on either : )

I personally think there is a narrow group of buyers for a car like yours. I am sure there are all types of buyers, but I would suggest there are 2 distinct types:

1. Track guys looking specifically for a track car
2. Non-Track (or limited track) people who love the 993, and can afford the turbo.

First, I would guess that most of your MODS would appeal to guy #1. Second, I would guess that there are not a whole lot of guy #1’s that have a 993 Turbo on the top of their list. I have a friend that is a DE instructor in FL. He drove a highly modified 964 Turbo. When it was time for him to change, I would guess that a modified 993 Turbo was not on his list. He bought a 996 GT3. He sold that car 3 years later to make room for his new 997 GT3 RS. He sold his 996 (out of state, sight unseen), to another instructor that wanted a track car. His 996 sold in weeks.

Guy #2 is me. I love my 993C4S, but I would like to have more power. The only Porsche I would (realistically) consider trading my car for is the 993 Turbo, and I have been actively looking for months now. It took me a while to get the wife to agree (“I don’t understand why you need that car. What is the difference between your car and that car? Power? Why do you need more power, etc etc…”). I’ll tell you right now that if I came home with your car, she would FREAK out and I would never hear the end of it. I also don’t track my car often. Your car would be complete overkill for my needs and frankly, why would I pay so much for your car’s MODS when I would not really want them? Dollar for dollar I would personally pay more for a low mileage car than a modified car.

So I would guess that there is a buyer for your car, but I don’t think you will find him/her right away at your current price point. If you can afford to wait, then wait and get the price that you think is fair. If you want a quick sale, I would guess that you will have to drop the price, or put some original stuff back on your car and don’t market it as a track car.

Either way, all of the above is just my opinion, and I wish you the best of luck.

Return it to stock, sell the parts 50 cents on the dollar. A bitter pill but that's your best bet to sell that car for any kind of cash in the short term, imo. Anything less and you're looking at a long winter. Remember mods add zero to the value of a car at resale time, in fact probably detract from the value. Having said that, your's is lightyears beyond ' a few mods'. You might get lucky and find that one guy, single, who wants a 993tt modded just like yours. The fact is, most guys who mod, would rather build it themselves, part of the fun I guess(I'm like that too).
Some more food for thought, a saw a 2nd owner, bone stock silver on black 57k miles, had major top end two yrs ago, rough body, mechanically perfect go for around 64k, almost your price point with zero mods/history.GL though with the sale, been there myself.

Andy, how's it going with your decision/sale..may be very interested in some of your performance parts,
cage, seats, door panels etc. may even be willing to trade some stock stuff, seats? etc to help in your con-
version if you mildly reurn to street? Let me know, presently looking for just exactly what you have in upgrading my arena red 993TT >GT2 status..
you can even call me to discuss if you like ,thanks Bert 202 413 7811
