993TT prices are through the roof...
RPM and Premier are in the mid 90's on non-S cars???
I haven't been watching for a while but what's fueling the increases?
The 996TT continues to fall - almost so far it's hard to resist.
Seems insane - especially to someone who's "kinda" looking.

Well I'm probably the wrong guy to comment on this since I just bought my second 993tt!
They are just the right combination of looks character and performance. They did not make as many as the 996tt. But, I never even considered a 996tt no matter what the price. It's just a car that either captures your heart or not. It's like the Harley guys say "If you have to ask you wouldn't understand."
Wanna buy my 96 "spare"?

Supply and demand??
According to my handy Porsche ( Red Book ) they only imported 1357 to north america in 1996 and 972 in 1997. Just bought a 97 from RPM and looked a lot before pulling the triger, unmolested, documented cars are few and far between. A lot were leased from new and lost there documentation among a long list of owners.

and some of those 2329 cars have been wrecked. (I wonder how many)
Let the price rise...good for all of us (not that I plan on ever selling my car).

All fine and good for you guys who own one but what about guys like me who are trying to move up from a beloved 993 without success. By the way, Im still in the market having done the St Louis PPI and passed.

Dan is right,
The search is half the fun, the internet has provided a global shoping mart.
Have you checked out the fly yellow 97 on ebay? Understand the color is not for everyone, but it looks nice.

prices going up is great and deserved for any non-renewable precious resource like the 993TT which is and will be a classic, but the big benefit is really only for those who want to sell....it does cause problems with insuring it as it gets increasingly hard to convince the insurers what the true value of your beloved car is. Agreed-value insurance works for that, but then many have strict restrictions on miles and stipulate you must have a daily driver of certain modern vintage, etc....

Yes, I would have to disagree STRONGLY that prices are through the roof. Prices have dropped recently, with more cars in the 50s than I've ever seen. The "collector" cars, especially those from the specialty dealers, still command premiums, but many a TT can be had for under 70 with decent miles.
