Question Yoko Advan Sports Vs Toyo Proxes T1R????

Those are my only two choices for tires in my desired sizes:
255x30x19
315x25x19

The Yoks will be around $1800 $1900 out-the-door
The Toyos will be closer to $1200 OTD.

The Yoks are decsribed as possibly having a tiny bit better dry grip, and will be less noisy as they wear. I don't care much about noise... I have no mufflers.

Does anybody have any thoughts about these two specific tires? I've had good luck in the past with Yoks, but $600-$700 is quite a bit of difference for me.

Thanks

Rufus gets new shoes!!

Wish I had some advice for you Steve ... I'm still on original (to me anyway) tires on all 3 cars.

I have the Yokahama Neova and I love them... I vote for YOKAHAMA..
I had an Evo-9 MR before this 993 TT and it had the Advan A048 tires and I would track those tires every other weekend with no problems...STICKY

OFE,

Toyos are making a comeback down here.... Some ppl are even using them as track tyres - and quite successfully too!!

I think they are good - but have no current experience with them - sorry. I have used them in the past and found them soooooft.

BOL,

Simon.

I have the yoks o48 and love them for a track tire...not bad on street just a little noisy. friends love the toyos but don't have 993s, I have the toyos on my audi a6 and they are pretty good. If I were you unless some major differences are reported I'd go with the cheaper one...toyos! in Canada if you order through PCA you save 35% and they give you a jacket and hat! let us know what you get and how you find them. For 19's street use I use continental sport contacts and I highly recommend these.

If you are into cruising the T1R will be fine, however if you starting to push the tire in the canyons or the track you will notice that the sidewall is not very stiff which results in a lot of "rolling" and lack of grip.
