Default Installed muffler bypass

I picked up a set of muffler bypass pipes from a friend of mine. Are these things great or what? I absolutely love how they make the car sound. I just got back from a 400+ mile trip in the car with my wife and they were never too loud.

Here's a short video of the new sound.

Strange. It's working for others on other forums. It's a WMV file. It's a 16MB file. I kept it larger to hear it better.

I get this message in both Mac and Windows:

Windows Media Player cannot play the file. The Player might not support the file type or might not support the codec that was used to compress the file.

maybe I need updated WMPlayer, but strange to get the same message in both platforms....

I imported the video on Vista, which does use newer codecs that WMP11 plays.

I have 3 different computers I just tested the link on and they all work. 2 of them are running Vista, and 1 XP. They are all running WMP11.

Your player may be timing out before it can buffer the whole file. Try this new link. It's a smaller version of the same thing. Quality is not as good, but it should solve the issues you are having, unless it's a codec issue.

WOT is great. The speed limit on the beach was 25MPH, so my wife was taking it easy. I will try and get some other video in the next few days.

Worked for me.

Sounds just like my Fabspeeds when I had them on.

Currently have AWE's muffler and cat bypasses. These are insanely loud by comparison.

Got it to work at work. (Don't tell the boss....)

Sounds great. Where is that: is it beach on Olympic Peninsula (I see you are in Newcastle: I am in Seattle)?

How are you holding up in the I-5 construction, starting today?

Also, what type/brand is this, anyone locally who installed for you, and do you think it will be a problem when it comes time to smog check: will they notice the added grunt? I am planning to do something like this when I get a 993TT. Maybe a sport cat....

jimhsu: I also have the muffler bypass pipes and I didn't have any issues when I had to smog check the car this past April.

That was out at Long Beach. I just had the pipes put on 2 days before and that was the first time that I was able to hear them outside. If Ignacio can pass the emmisions test, then I know I can since I still have the stock cats. But by the time I have to be tested again, I may replace them.

To be honest, I'm not sure what brand they are. They don't look like the Fabspeed ones. The guy that sold them to me bought them awhile ago and just never put them on.

I had a friend of mine who has a motorsports business put them on for me. He works on Porsche cup cars for one of the larger racing teams. He has his own business locally that allows him to work on cars when not at the races.

I'm lucky and not really impacted by the contruction. I only work in Redmond, so I take back roads to work. My wife on the other hand has to drive to Seattle everyday.
