This is interesting. I'd imagine most buyers of 993TTs these days want stock, but there seem to be plenty of guys who post on this board "how do I make it faster, what mods should do first?" This car would be perfect for them. I saw it at the Ventura show, very very nice.

I think the main factor people weigh is price vs mileage. Mods come as a secondary consideration, after condition, history, location.

Scott, are you also selling your car through some sort of broker? I swear I've seen its pics on one of the for-sale sites, just wanted to make sure someone hadn't stolen the pics.

would like to see more pics of that "new" old 993 you just purchased.

Just to hit on the topic of people shying away of modded cars is that that they do not know how hard the car has been driven which may result in expensive repairs later on...

same can be said about unmodded cars. you don't know how any car was driven moddd or unmodded. the srvice history tells the tale

This whole alure to the Andial cars is BS . I know a guy that bought one and he had to get the motor rebuild the next week. The andial conversion done by andial was poor. K24s with much lag and the car put out as much hospower and torque as a stocker with an cu flash. Just my 2 cents. Plus they use slip in cylinders that warp from heat. The real way to doa 3.8 is to bore the case and use thicker based cylinders. Just my 2 cents. Good luck with the new car. I like the older one better

Andy,

Interesting perspective about Andial... and the only negative comment I've heard. Also, I don't think they use K24s, but I could be wrong. There are several Andial 3.8s out here on the West Coast that are routinely (and successfuly) tracked, without incident. Your friend might have gotten an abused one, or perhaps was using a poor grade of fuel. I'd be a bit careful about condemming their work based on "I know a guy".

Just my 2 cents.

Manny, look at https://rennlist.com/forums/showthre...llowed+me+home for more pics.

Andy Thanks for your kind words about Frank.
As far as I know the Andial runs a GT1 turbo. It has very little lag. But perhaps the Andial discussion could go in another thread?

The car I am referring to is in NY and Riviera blue. It's gorgeous but came to the current owner running like doo doo. It had the non rac version K24s and the programming was so bad the car was like an on off switch. It has been corrected and now it's a rocket. I do love the car for sale. I also love thos RUF wheels on the newbie. Good luck with it. !!!

Scott - as you know I would have been all over that car like a hobo on a sandwich - but its out of my price range.

There are actually not that many modded cars out there. I began looking for a modded car - having been down the slippery slope once, I wanted to spare myself that journey - but just could not find one at the price I could rationalise.

Having sold a modded 993 previously, I dont think that many mods actually add value to the car, they just make the car more saleable. Unfortunately most people are looking to recoup some (if not all) of their modd investment in the car upon resale and maybe thats why they dont sell?

In the end I bought a stock C2S with factory aerokit - PPI checked out and its just been picked up today in Florida (yipeeee!).

But I'm still going to dream of a car like yours...
