Default Paint or Leave Original

I have blk 1997 993tt that has original paint and in great condition. As I was detailing the car last week I noticed the bottom of the front bumper cover has aquired several noticeable scrapes. My dilema is whether I should have the bumper repainted and loose it's originality and possible value, or just leave it as is and consider this as expected wear. The body shop that I contacted claims that he can duplicate the factory paint job and nobody could tell that it was repainted. I would like your opinions and outcome of owners that had the bumper repainted.I have always heard that no paint job compares to the original factory paint.

No brainer, repaint it unless you like looking at the scrapes.

I would repaint, but take photos before and after to show that it was painted for normal cosmetic road rash, and not any sort of crash,

I would repaint it too.

If you want to... you can take some "before" photos of the scrape for documentation.

If your car is lowered, I'd leave it. Only person who would see the bottom of the bumper is you when detailing or working on your car. Dispite a nose protector, I bottom out occasionally on steep driveways etc. Mine's not only scraped, the plastics worn right through in some places!...Unless you're planning on not driving it much!

Paint it only if it bugs you.

show us some pics of your stone chips and scrapes, then do a poll to see how many say to do a respray and how many say to leave as is. That's be interesting
