new member--sticker question
I bought a black on black 993 tt over a year ago from rpm sports cars. Still learning how to drive it...what a hoot. I noticed it is missing the sticker under the hood and the one in the booklet...just has the dealer and original owners signature. First owner had a clear bra installed...was the sticker under the hood applied at the factory or the dealer? I wonder if the hood was replaced at some point despite the PPI stating the paint was all original. Thanks for the input.

Thanks for the quick response. Sorta bummed out about it (still my dream car)...suprised nothing came up on carfax and I heard good things about RPM sports cars in houston. Think I'll just put more miles on it and not worry about keeping the "garage queen" status.

Don't be too bummed out... its entirely possible that the underhood sticker was simply removed for a "cleaner" appearance by an unknowing owner. I didn't know there was a matching one in the booklet... which booklet?

The first page in the maintenance booklet has a section for vehicle identification...model type, options etc...mine is blank. I know the previous owner purchased the car from a dealer in Rhode Island and had it shipped to California. The car had less than 10k miles on it when I bought it a year and a half ago. I was able to contact the dealers and verified it was serviced a few times..concerned at the time of purchase because the maintenance booklet showed one oil service at 1500 miles. Sorry for the dribble...I have had a lot of fun putting 6k miles on it.

Well, you learn something new everyday... at least I do. I just looked in my maintenance book and Voila... the sticker and a bunch of service stamps. Rufus has 109K miles and had a total Ruf Turbo R conversion done at 86k miles, so I didn't pay any attention to the booklet. Thanks!

Don't worry about the sticker, I've seen detailers routinely peel them off. Just check the paint depth with a guage( was probably done in your ppi) if you're really worried. Even if it was resprayed you got a GREAT DEAL!

My car is all stock except a hardwired valentine one and sat radio. Have picture uploaded to server but the computer says I haven't met the required number of posts? I'll try later. thanks for the responses.
