Default Changes

Just back from the track with my new wheels, tires and brakes. Swapped to 996tt 8" and 11" wheels with 235/40 and 315/30 A048 Yokohama Advans. They fit perfectly with no spacers or fender rolling required at Euro ride height. I set the Ruf rear sway bar at the tighter notch to compensate for the bigger rear rubber and ran 32 psi front and 36 psi rear cold pressures. Handling was great and dead neutral with lots of throttle on exiting high speed turns. I stepped up to Pagid Yellows after getting front pad transfer from the Orange compound and that worked well also. Great on the track, decent cold performance on the street and even less squeal than the Oranges, at least so far.

Agree pagid yellows are the shizzle. How do the Yoko's compare to other tires you've run?

I found the Yokohamas to need less warmup than the MPSC, seem stickier but they are bigger so not a fair comparo. On the road they have a drone between 40 and 60mph that goes away by my usual cruise of 80.

Don,
How long were your run sessons? I noticed towards the end of a 30 minute session the Yoko's would get a little greasy. I didn't have a pyrometer to test the temps so I could have over cooked them. Overall I found them much more predictable than the MPSC.

They were just 20 minute sessions on a cool day and I wasn't pushing real hard, as I was adjusting to all the changes I'd made.
