Default Wheel dilemma: 996tt hollows or 993tt hollows?

Ok,
My c4s is going to cali (permanently) in a week and a half.

My c4s has 996tt hollowspoke wheels on it, and my "new to me" 96tt has oem 993tt hollowspoke wheels. Both sets are in great shape with about 75% tire wear remaining.

Dilemma: which wheels to keep (buyer has left it up to me)?

I definitely plan on putting 996tt's on the tt at some point but my question is: should I keep the 993tt hollows (as they were oem and more rare) just in case I ever want to sell the car (doubtful)?

What do you guys think?

That S looks lovely with the 996 wheels. Do the 996's and keep the 993's.

you are correct 993 hollows are harder to find but the look and of coarse the 11's on the rear (996tt) hollows have no match. I have a 98 C2S with 996tt-S hollows they look great + 996 hollows are a bit lighter than 993 hollows. They are actually BBS (996tt)

We never think we'll sell a car we just bought, but almost always do eventually. The stock wheels are much more desirable for resale.

Keep the 993 hollows - the 996 ones don't match the look of the car quite as well IMO.

996TT - the harder angular spokes are a nice contrast to the rounded shapes of the 993. And I had them on my 993TT

Put the 996tt hollow spokes on your 993tt just for the 1" wider rears as SQK993 says.

Also, you're getting a slightly updated look with the 996tt hollows without a huge deviation from the 993tt hollows. Plus, you're sticking with OEM.

Just do it, doubt you'll regret it. And pretty sure you won't have a problem locating 993tt hollows in the future.

Go with the 996tt, they are more aggressive looking and lighter, and ViperBob said so.

But then again, I'm biased, because I'm buying your C4S.

Eric,

Maybe someone can confirm the P/N for you on the 996TT-S rims. But visually the finish is a Platinum (darker than the light grey finish).

Its hard to tell not having them side by side... but here's my 996TT-S example

Hi Tony,
I was hoping you might chime in here and know the part #'s. I remember you had the "S" wheels on your car. The wheels I'm looking at are definitely darker, more gray in color, than the regular silver hollow spokes. They look just like the ones in your pic....
