You wont have the drive block system then, as that wasn't available on the UK cars. I think there were a couple of alarm options on the uk cars, some have the immobiliser key socket, and others have the remote hooked into the central locking, but this is different to the "drive block system". There are only to types of ecu that come with the powerplant kits, a version for the drive block cars (porsche immobiliser) and for cars without.
See this link on 911uk.com, as I have scanned the tequipment brochure page relating to the power upgrades. I would say that you want the one for cars without. PCGB or your local OPC could check your VIN and confirm this for you.

Thanks chaps - all good info, looks like I'm not drive block then.
I have a standard key with no buttons on it. I also have a little plastic device with 2 buttons - 1 to lock and 1 to unlock. If I unlock the car and then wait long enough before starting the car it won't start - I I have to press the unlock button again, the hazards flash and it will then start.

Here's the info from Rhonda Roxburgh from FVD. I should note that they replied very quickly and with quite a bit of detail:
You are not limited by octane. The program will automatically retard the timing per the octance. Obviously we would like to see atleast 93 but if you need to fill occasionally with 91 you will be ok. Perhaps you can bring a bottle of 104 octane with you.
Here are the performance values:
Genuine:
Engine - 6 Cylinder Boxer Twin-Turbo
Capacity - 3600ccm
Compression ratio - 8,5:1
Max. Power - 300kW (408HP) @ 5750rpm
Max. Torque - 540Nm (398lbf ft) @ 4500rpm Max. Speed - 290km/h Max. RPM - 6700rpm Acceleration 0-100km/h - 4.5s
FVDDME upgrade with sport filter:
Max. Power - 324kW (440HP) @ 6000rpm
Max. Torque - 600Nm (443lbf ft) @ 4500rpm Max. Speed - 310km/h Max. RPM - 6900rpm Acceleration 0-100km/h - 4.3s
Immobilizer works normally, just send us the DME and we will have it back to you in
5 business days.
Thanks,
Rhonda

Thanks Rhonda - the ECU does seem to have a good reputation.
I think I'll ring FVD - I'm hoping I can use the ECU without the powerflow filter as I'm not sure you can beat the standard filter as an all-round performer - also the powerflow system looks like it would draw in hot air.
BTY do you have this kit fitted?

Now if only I can get them to admit the ECU would make more power WITHOUT the powerflow kit.....
I'm not bothered of course but I am keen to know whether the stage 1 ECU is designed to be used with the powerflow kit, I doubt it but their ad for the ECU on it's own doesn't quote any power - do you think it's likely the ECU isn't 'aware' of the air intake TB?
